We always head home to WDW in June - THis year were thinking August -- How will the crowds and weather be like???

The weather is just the same as in june, hot!, I've been there twice in late august and both times they wern't that bad. The longest wait I remember was 45 minutes for space mountain, and 30 minutes for Splash Mountian. Every other E-ride attraction in the parks for about 15 to 30 minutes, excluding test track.

We just got back from our Mini trip down.Great weather, all around great trip. Our long trip has usually been in Sept. Now DH says he wants to go for a longer visit. This can only be done if we go the 2nd into 3rd week of August. Please help me with weather...heat and crowds. We have been spoiled with low crowds in Sept. But heat has always been a factor.I can deal with one or the other :( Are park hours longer?
Thanks
Heidi

2nd week of August will be busy. The 3rd week things start to slow down and the last week is slow. We walked off and on Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain the last week until we were tired of riding. We are going back the last week of August again this year. It will be hot. Guess it depends on the year but found that when we went in June it rained every day where August had a brief shower a few of the days.

Um, are you saying that in Sept up through the 9th it will be BUSY? As in "busy"??? Then why is that the value season?

*sigh* We booked that for value season because we thought that would mean it wasn't busy. We knew it'd be hot- but that's okay because we wanted to actually take advantage of the water parks during our stay- but I didn't expect it to be BUSY???

2nd week of August was very busy when we went and VERY hot! Go to the parks early in the am and stay til mid day and then take a break in the afternoon and go back in the evening. Use fast passes and take advantage of EE and e-night if they have it during your visit. Drink lots of water and bring a mister fan to deal with the heat. With a little planning, August is definately doable.

The beginning of August is busier, the southern schools all go back by mid-August. According to historical hours last year they reduced park hours about mid-way throught he third week of August. Last week of August were shortened hours, I'm sure many of the CM's working the summer have headed back to college by then. We've never been in August either but are giving it a try this year. Can't take the kids out of school any more.
