It's most likely we will too, I'm a bit worried about the whole making it back to the ship on time situation. We are doing a 4 night med with DCL this summer. Villefranche is the only port we'll end up doing twice. We'll do the Monte Carlo & Eze tour this year so next year we may just stay in Villefranche.

We spent a week in Rome this Jan for our anniversary so may stay on board and have an extra "sea day" with a quieter ship. having said that we both loved Rome so may not be able to resist a trip in .

Any of the tours on offer this year you're particularly hoping they have next?

I think we are just taking the bus to Rome and going on our own. Will buy our tickets before we leave to skip the lines. We want to goto monte carlo and I want to go to mt vesuvious and pompeii and Florence. This will be our first trip to Europe. I have ordered a rick steves book to help. The only thing really left to do is the air. The one nice thing us we become gold me members on this cruise do we can book excursions early. The planning us half the fun for me

I hear that! I think that is a sentiment most here can relate to. A holiday for me isn't just the one or two weeks we are away but the months of planning too this cruise will only be our third so have to wait for the 90 days previous to book.

I have always wanted to go to Florence so I think that will be a must. Not sure about the Naples port as we would like to go to Herculaneum AND Pompeii/Vesuvius so will have to do a little more research on both before we decide. At the moment I am swaying more toward Pompeii & Vesuvius I guess I can always go back, there is a lot of Italy I'd like to see!

Now we have this one booked it makes me even more excited for the taster we have this summer. It's just a shame next year is so far away!!!

Do you know if they exchange euros on the ship or if I need to do this before we leave the States?

I can ask when we go in July if you like. To be honest I would shop around and buy Euros at home before I leave to get the best possible rate, they may not have such good rates on the ship so won't get as much for our money

Hi. Are u going to be doing the same ports this year? I was wondering if you know if it is difficult to get to Monaco from villefranche? I was thinking of doing this port on our own so the trip doesn't seem to "scheduled"

The only port we are doing this year and next is Villefranche. I have booked on the Monaco and Eze tour this year through DCL. However, I have a cousin who did the 7 night med last year and is again this year who says getting the train from villefranche to Monaco is really easy

We go July 9th so let me know everything you want me to find out and I shall try my hardest to do so. As i said, the only port we're doing this year and next is Villefranche so won't have experience with anywhere else

Ok will have a look. Otherwise my cousins are doing B2B 7 night meds this August and I'm pretty sure they are planning on catching the train to Monaco independently so will actually experience it and I can find out from them

They have 2 boys aged 6 & 9 so wouldn't do it if it was particularly difficult.

Oh one thing I have remembered - My cousins actually tried to do this on the 7 night Med they did last year but the trains were down on that particular day. They were lucky enough to get onto the Monaco tour through DCL at last minute but it may be worth having a back up plan, bus times or something
