Sunday was our Character Breakfast in Parrot Cay at 8:00. Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, and Goofy made their way to all of the tables and posed for pictures and signed autographs.
Around 11:15 the Magic docked at Key West and after the warning announcement fron the first officer that anyone wishing to cover their ears on the forward part of decks 9 & 10 had better do so because the ships horn was going to sound from the forward funnel. They should add that you should grab onto something like a railing too because even though you know that it's coming, that seven note blast can still jolt you.
We docked right in front of the Marriott hotel. I felt kind of sorry for all of the people who had paid for an ocean front room who now had their view blocked by a massive black wall of steel, but the dock was very convenient for all of us aboard the Magic. We were joined a short while later by the Carnival Glory who docked behind us, stern to stern.
We had never been to Key West before and we were not impressed. It sort of reminded us of Nassau except that it was cleaner and no one bothered us about having our hair braided. We walked down Duval street and then back up another street towards the ship. It was one little store butted up against the next, all selling mostly the same things. The temp. was about 90 and the humidity was about 80%. We were very glad to reboard the ship and head to lunch at Parrot Cay where they had an Italian buffet.
In the afternoon we swam at the adult pool and stopped at Signals for a few drinks.
Dinner that night was also at Parrot Cay. We all enjoyed the cuban marinated rib eye steaks, and had an order of the beef tenderloin on the side to try. The boys and I had the ice cream sundaes for desert and DW had another Creme Brulee.
Tonight was Morty the Mag. night but we DW and I opted for Finding Nemo instead. I had not seen it and enjoyed watching it. The boys watched Morty and said that it was ok, but there was too much singing.
We went up to deck 10 to watch the ship pull away and headed for bed anticipating Monday and our personal favorite, a day at sea.
