August 29, 2015 - 7 Night Mediterranean Cruise on Disney Magic

Another low cost airline in Europe that I have used several times is Ryanair. Both Paris and London are fabulous, so either trip will be worth it! :)

I am booking this cruise when I get on board in 6weeks. Any pre cruise hotel recommendation?

Hi everyone. We just booked this cruise and we are very excited to go on another Disney cruise! This is our third cruise with Disney and our first Mediterranean one! :cool1: Disney Magic 08/29/15 Disney Dream 06/01/12 Disney Wonder 05/30/10

This is my first Mediterranean too! I am planning to fly to Paris and expend a couple days there before flying to Barcelona for the cruise. Can you please add me to the Facebook group. My name in Facebook is Nikki Nivar de Rios.

Thanks!

Hi All!!!
DH & I signed up for this cruise while on the 6/21 Fantasy Western. We "turned Gold" on that cruise. Now,we'll be on the WBTA on 9/6 and Southern Caribbean on 9/20. Our first B2B!! It took us 14 years from our first cruise in '99 to get to Gold last month. Now that we're retired (high school principal and middle school counselor),we're trying to take the trips we've dreamed about. So this cruise will be either our 8th or 9th Disney cruise (DH is eyeing the 5/1 EBTA). We've also cruised other lines, so now that we have something to compare it to, it's only Disney for us.
My first FE was on the Fantasy MV and I had over 100 cabins. But it was fun. I enjoy doing the FE's.DH really gets into it. He loves coming back to the cabin and seeing little gifts waiting. He's like a kid . As for me, I become an 8 year old most evenings at midnight. I call room service and ask for a Chocolate milk, chocolate chip cookies(they always arrive warm!) and a Mickey Bar!! It's the little things that mean so much!
In 2000,DH & I and 4 teachers took 40 students on a language club trip to Barcelona & Paris. The year before,it was London & Dublin. We took the overnight train from Paris to Barcelona and all 40 students tried to pack themselves into one berth. ......it'll be a treat to back to Barcelona this September on the WBTA with just the two of us!!! Our first TA also!!!!!:wave2:

I was just on the site for the disney store and they have the water bottles, tumbler cups, and travel coffee mugs on sale. Of course I ordered for my family to use NEXT year, but who can pass up a good deal?!? Figured I would share the tip with my fellow early birds!

I have requested to join the FB group and am planning to do fish extender gifts. Please sign me up. This will be our first cruise (other than my mother) and the kids (will be 3 & 6) are very excited. Planning early to continue to build the excitement. Maybe we'll even manage to get my husband excited about the trip before next September. As with some other posters, we are planning on flying into Paris (maybe London) and either flying or taking the train from there. Disneyland Paris is still a question mark as there are plenty of great places to visit in Paris as well. Plenty of time to work out the details.

Corinne, my girls are going to be 3&6 as well. And we are also planning into Paris. I am not considering Disneyland because we have WDW here and will be taking the cruise. Even thought I am a Disney addict, I think I will pass Did Roland this time.

This will be the first Disney trip for each of us. The closest the kids have come so far is the Disney store and my daughter (the one who will be 6) keeps begging us to take her to Disneyland. We're in Canada and closer to the East coast than the West, so I don't see California in her future anytime soon. Disneyland Paris is more likely. My husband hates to travel, though, so I'm not going to tell my daughter about the possibility until we are practically there (just in case). My son just turned 2 and hasn't travelled as much as my daughter, so he'll just enjoy the ride once we're there.

My mother and I took my daughter to London for her second birthday and that went well, so Paris should be great if my husband relaxes a bit.

Hi fellow cruisers :thumbsup2
Bruce and I (Gina) booked this cruise while on our Alaska cruise this summer and are excited to get back to the Med. We've been to the Med twice with Disney with Grandchildren but this time it's just us. I especially look forward to going back to Florence. The last trip we went to Cinque Terre and loved it !
Anyway, there's so much to see and do !! I'd be happy to answer any questions for those who have never been. We've mainly taken private tours , have done some on our own, and a few DCL shore excursions. We have spent a few days in Barcelona too.
We 'd really like to do a land tour of Spain before the cruise but it all depends. Bruce's Mother is 90 and we need to consider her when we make our travel plans.
We're doing a 4-night cruise on the Dream in Dec. and a few days at the park. Can't wait to see the Christmas decorations on the ship !
Looking forward to meeting you all and making plans !

Hello!

Would anyone be interested in sharing a private tour? (Rome was specifically what I was thinking of). We would love to see a few sights and meet some new friends! My husband and I don't have kids but wouldn't mind sharing our tour with some.

Hello! My husband and I are booked on this cruise. I booked back when prices were released and am starting to try and get things all planned out.

We were also hoping to visit Paris before/after the cruise. We are very excited, albeit I am a bit overwhelmed at the planning process and so far feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. This will be our third time on the Magic, so at least I am familiar with one part of our trip planning!

A heads up that the airlines have posted flight schedules for the time around our cruise dates. We booked our flights yesterday! :cool1:

My amazing husband :cool1: just booked a cruise for my friend and I (Moms take on Europe!) :flower3: What a treat!! Can't wait! It's both of our firsts in Europe and we are avid educators and have that "amazing race" personalities....so we will be booking it everywhere and enjoying everything we possibly can.

I'm a DVC member, but wanted to know if anyone knows if it matters or not if we book as DVC or go through authorized Disney Travel Agent. A lot are offering on board credit, so thought I'd ask. TIA! :MinnieMo:

My family is interested. We have 4 kids so if the tours are for 8 that would work out perfectly. Im not sure though how many people they accomodate.

Hi Everyone,

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise but first time in Europe.
It will be me, DH and DS (11). So excited!
We are flying from Boston and hope to do a few days in London or Paris and take the train to Barcelona.

I have been looking at flights and pricing seems pretty high...Is it better to book now or will pricing come down closer to sail date?

Thanks,
Cheryl

Unfortunately, posts have been removed from a number of Cruise Meets threads including this one.

PLEASE review the Cruise Meet Policy regarding Cruise Meet and Fish Extender programs. - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3353477

Links to Cruise Meet discussion/Fish Extenders other than those on the DIS may not be posted or offered by any other means (PM, email, "search" directions, etc.).

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, if no one comes forward to organize a FE for this cruise, anyone can organize the FE right in this thread.

Enjoy!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

My family just booked this trip as our first Disney Cruise (first cruise ever for my husband and kids). I can't wait! It will be my husband and I, my children (9 year old girl and 15 year old boy with Down Syndrome) and my in-laws. Any tips for first timers? Please let me know! I have just started reading and hearing about special things like the door decorating and FE - I definitely want to participate and make this special! My special needs guy is so in love with Disney and is going to be beside himself with joy on this adventure :) Oh - we also booked the Adventures by Disney trip that goes in parallel with the cruise - is anyone else doing that?

Hi
So excited to finally be going to Europe. I will be cruising with my sister and mom and this will be our 3rd disney.
We did a 7night Caribbean Cruise May 2014 and are going on a 4 night Bahamas cruise in 2 weeks for my birthday.

My sister taught in Italy for a month but this is my mom and mines 1st time to Europe. We are traveling from Canada and are thinking of staying a few days before in Barcelona (though the paris ideas have caught our attention) and were thinking of doing a few in England after. We have no idea where to start with the planning and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I just discovered the forum boards and the FE and would love to take part if anyone is organizing it. We have never done one before and it sounds like fun.

if anyone has done this cruise before and can recommend some good excursion that would also be great...... we want to see and experience as much as we can

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS where FE began years ago.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin. Other information you would like to share such as first names, ages of child participants, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one has recently come forward to organize a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread.

There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS.

Hi
We made a booking yesterday with Rome in Limo for a group of 15 - touring Rome on 1st of September. (http://www.romeinlimotoursharing.com)
We have two kids (2 and 6) and are interested in the Colosseum, Vatican and Roman Catacombs. If all 15 places are filled it will be about EUR 100 per person with a tour guide. Please feel free to join us if anyone is interested.

Dear Gina

Thank you for the offer to answer questions as you can see I am taking you up on that offer! Can you please advice which DCL port excursions you will recommend? We are a couple and two small children travelling together and are planning to do only one port excursion with DCL.

Thanks
Erika
