Reenie -
We did the Castaway Cay parasailing last year --- solo, not tandem --- and it was great! I'd recommend taking a couple of those inexpensive waterproof cameras with you. One for "in the air" and one for "in the boat" ... that way you can take pixs while in the air and someone down on the boat can take pixs of the person who is up in the air.

Hope you have a blast!!

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend :wave2: DH and I did some cruise-clothes shopping today. Nothing major yet, just bought some Dockers for him and for the boys, and I got some shorts and tops for myself. I've given up on the thought of losing a lot of weight before the cruise :sad2:

Melanie: Congrats on becoming a DIS veteran! :cheer2:

Reenie: I'm sorry to hear about your foot... *OUCH*! I'm glad it's feeling better today. :)
I think both of my sons will be doing the teen catamaran excursion. This is the one that's the evening of Cozumel, right?? It sounds like a lot of fun for the kids :cool2: I'll have to remind Robby to leave his Buddy List signed-on! I know he wants to talk to some of the kids that he'll be cruising with :)

Bobby: Thanks so much for making the extra magnets for us. I'm not sure if you saw my reply to you on the "ice wine" thread, but since I know you and Cindy will be at Palo on the same night and the same time as John and I, we'd love to treat you each to a glass of ice wine :flower3:

Joanna: I'm not at the Jersey Shore *yet*, but I'm counting down the days!! I'll be there 2 weeks from Monday! :sunny:

Reenie:

Glad to hear your foot is doing better.

Matt told me he had been talking to your daughter. I am glad some of the kids are getting in touch that way they will already know each other.

Matt went on the Sunset Cruise last year and he did say anything about going this year, I assume he's not interested in it. But you never know I'll check with him.

Hey, where did everyone go???

I am under 300 days for my WDW trip in April.

Did anyone read the story on Bermuda in the AAA magazine "Car and Travel" this month? Looks like that may be my next cruise.

Joanna

 I'm here! Just reading the boards this sunday afternoon.

I've been to Bermuda more times then I can count. It's a beautiful island and the beaches are very nice.

Welcome Patti! Glad to have you with us.

I'm assuming the magnets will be bought to the first Dis Meet right after the boat drill.

Sorry, I keep asking questions, but- Where are the disers meeting after the boat drill? This is our first EVER vacation and i am a newby at this stuff, you guys are all pros!!!!Our room number is 8062 I hope to meet everyone there!!

The DIS meet is scheduled for right after the boat drill in the promenade lounge (in case of rain) But it is only a 10 minute meet, after that it is off to the Sailaway party.

Maryanne...Did you cruise to Bermuda and if so which ship?

When we cruised Bermuda we sailed with Holland American (78 and again in 82. If they sailed out of the NYCity area we'd sail with them again.

Then we sailed with the Home Lines (don't remember the ship name - but I can tell you it was the worst, worst cruise we EVER were on. - They are now out of business.

We've also sailed to or three times with Celebrity. We enjoyed them. I have to say they had the best food of all the ships and that includes Disney which we've sailed with once before.

Did you sail on the Zenith or Horizon?

Next year the Voyager is also suppose to do a 5 day cruise to Bermuda. Will have to see.

I have been both on the Zenith and Horizon. I think we liked the Horizon a little better but that could have been because my boys were bigger then and we just had a nicer trip. When we were on the Zenith we got caught in a hurrican.

OK Now I need you to think back to the Celebrity ships and since you have sailed on DCL before (I have only sailed DCL) will I totally not like the Celebrity ships because they are small? Is it that noticable? I would like to try it becaue it is 7 nights vs RC Voyager at 5 nights and with RCCL we will have to tender because it is a big ship. I would like to be able to get on and off the ship without tendering.

Personally small is not noticible at least not on the Celeberty. I think Holland American was much smaller. I seem to remember only about 700 people on those cruises.

As far as tendering, this is just my opinion, I've tendered and not tendered although I can't remembered which ship I did it with going to Bermuda. Given a choice, I would not take a ship that you had to take a tender in. It's just another hassel to me and I'm not one for getting off the ship much to begin with.

The last time I was on the Disney ship (August 2000 - it was the 3rd 7 day cuise ever) I'm sure we tendered at Cataway Cay as the dock was not yet completed.

I would take the 7 day cruise over the 5 anyday but again that's just me.

Joanna, another thing against the 5-night to Bermuda is that you'd dock in Bermuda for only 1 night, and be at sea the other 4 nights. For a fun cruise, it'd be alright, but if you wanted to go and actually see Bermuda, that wouldn't be enough time.
