August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

I am starting to iron, after I iron, do you think it is too early to pack the clothes I ironed?

I want to get done, have nail and pedicure appt tomorrow, Hair on Wednesday, boy it is getting close.

Starting to get rid of that overwhelmed feeling. Went into DD8's closet today and she is pretty much set on school clothes, went to staples and finished buying her school supplies. I am ready to go, to bad work is going to be awful this week. All the MD's are back from vacation.

Talk to you later, in between sets of clothes LOL

Lynn and Bobby... ok your right, ,all the words are correct, and LYNN your words are correct too..Joanna: I ironed everything and just put them on my garmet bag,, not folded up..I figured I can always leave them in the bath during a hot shower with the door shut!
ok the tie dyes are done.. that was fun and not all that messy... We will see how they look in the AM..

DOREEN:crazy:

I am hoping my DD12 shows me how to use her digital camera.

Not to worry, I have a 12 and 16 year old that can help you. Good thing too, or I wouldn't have any pictures myself.

Ok everyone, about to have a meltdown here, because ours kids have no idea about the cruise and we are not telling them until Saturday morning at 3:00am when our surprise limo picks us up. It is very hard to keep everything under wraps. I can't wait to tell everyone how we did it. Only a couple more days until we meet everyone!!!!!See you soon!!!!!

How are you doing everything without them knowing? how old are they? how are you packing.. I think that is great... you can hold out one more week..

Doreen

I did see a hat the style of Jack Sparrow It was at Party City.
Basicaly it was a brown doo-rag type bandana thing that was put on your head with a fishnet tie aroung that.. Then it had a string of beads hanging to the side.. I was going to get it but it wouldnt fit my hear.. I didnt think
I was that much of a FATHEAD.. I could have bought it, take it apart and re-tie it to fit me of course.. It was $15.. I think..
Do you have a PARTY CITY near you?? DISNEY STORE had HOOK costumes with the hook and sword. It was a soft felt sword,, but I didnt want trouble onthe plane...

Doreen, I am telling them we are going down the shore. But... It is soooooo hard. Talking to you guys is my saving grace.......

Pattiteach...OMG, how old are your kids? You have to let us know the outcome.

Doreen...Don't forget the Downey Wrinkle Releaser (my saving grace).

Joanna

Doreen:

I swear by Downey Wrinkle Reducer. I had to hunt all around for it because a lot of the stores in NJ don't carry it anymore, but I found it in the Acme. You just spray it on the clothes when they are on the hangers pull the clothes snug and poof all the wrinkles are gone.

Doreen...I would like to read all the posts again, but since you are looking through them all, you should let us know the first time we all posted. LOL

On the serious side, I used Downy Wrinkle releaser on my first cruise and I still use it at home, especially on Tee shirts, just spritz and pull and you are wrinkle free. I don't know about dress clothes but for all the shorts and tee shirts its a charm.

Who is going to WDW THIS week?

Good Morning everyone!

Mom is coming to visit today and spending time with our boys in the a/c (she still has no power in Charlotte Co.) while Adam and I cruise shop for last minute clothes, items, etc! Very excited!!!! Hopefully I won't be crying in the fitting rooms having to buy those larger sizes!!! LOL

Question to all.... Has anyone used the ship's laundry service to press their clothing? How many items (estimate) did you send out and how much was it??? I have been hunting for Downy wrinkle releaser and can't find it anywhere here for over a month. I really do not want to iron - HATE it at home so I certainly don't want to be doing it on the cruise!!!! Am considering sending them my laundry too so I don't have to do it and take the $$$ from our suvenior budget. Isn't that sad??? I know the penny pincher in me will probably wind up doing it myself but wanted any feedback on this.

Melanie

I LOVE Downy wrinkle releaser. I found mine at Target. I hate to iron too.

It's going to be a very long two days. I just want to jump in the car and start driving.

I think it is between 2.50 and 3.50 per item to have it ironed by them. I've already made up my mind to do it. I figure we'll have maybe 10 items so at the most it is $30. I rarely buy any stuff, so I'm just going to treat myself to this!

We're on our way, so I look forward to seeing all of you next week. Have safe trips. See you all between Fri and Sat!

Lynn,, can I ask you to get some Downy for me and I will pay you back in cash?? If your going to the store that is.. I have to go to Rochester
NY today,, so manybe they do have it there.. Never a bad idea to have more than one..
MARY ANNE> have a safe trip..
Is the gretest feelng to say "WE ARE GOING TO FLORIDA THIS WEEK>> ":sunny: Joanne just because I am packed doesnt mean I have all that time to go through
ALL the posts,,lol...We go to WDW Wednesday btw..:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Have a safe day,and Melanie: have fun shopping.. my favorite pastime...:hyper:
Doreen

Doreen, you can always borrow some of your fellow DISers Downy. It sounds like we are all bring it. We are more than happy to share. My kids ages are 4,DD, 7, DS and 10 Ds. This pass week is stressing me out, trying to keep the secret, I will definately need the relaxation!!!!Also if anyone is a wine drinker, I have brought a couple of LARGE bottles and will need help finshing them...... on the 8th floor just look for my maget THE DELUCA'S and join us!!!!

Melanie...Target has the Downy wrinkle releaser. It is cheaper there than the supermarket and Target is practically around the corner from us. The Downy is good for the Tee shirts and shorts, on our last cruise we sent all our dress clothes out to be pressed. It was somewhere around 20 something dollars. We will be doing it again. go to www.dcltribute.com and click on FAQ's and then scroll to laundry and click on it and there will be a price list.

Doreen...If you don't find the Downy today, (check your local supermarket also) and if Karel can't get it, let me know.

Love my wine, so Mrs. DeLuca, I'll see you on deck 8. By the way, what category do you have?

Joanna

Doreen:

No problem I will pick it up for you at the store today. You are going to love it.

I used the ship's laundry service to iron my dressy dress and I thought it was around $2.00 but I really don't remember. I am still using them for the tuxedo shirts I want them nice and crisp.

We will be in Disney on Friday at the Polynesian. Doing MGM in the morning Prime Time 50's for lunch at 1:00 PM if anyone wants to meet us there, and then we eating a the Castle at 7:05 for dinner.

Lyn

Joanna:

Thanks for changing that. I couldn't help myself when the discount came out Iwas drawn back home to the Polynesian. Our friends were supposed to stay there but has since cancelled their plans.

If you want to it's not a big deal you can take Amanda off she won't be joining us. Imagine a 17 year old girl quitting school, and then moving with her 23 year old boyfriend to Texas. That would have happened in my house over my dead body. I can't imagine what her parents were thinking!

Thanks again,

Lyn
