August 24, 2014 Dream DVC Member Cruise

For those who have sailed the MC before, are the gifts per person or per stateroom daily. I really need to figure out how much room I may need! LOL! My last cruise I did the Fe with 3 lists (45 rooms total and I ended up bringing home one large suitcase and 1/2 carry on with FE stuff alone for the 4 of us! A girl must plan, obsess, plan some more! :rotfl2:

Per person daily! The only exception on the January MC, is there were only 2 DVC Monopoly games, although there were 3 of us in the room.

I left some things that I knew I would not ever use.

On our 2005 MC, there were special pins given to each person every day...small, cute, I treasure them.

Wow!! Page 2 already..that's what I get for taking a nap on a Sunday afternoon.
We booked this morning on deck 7 Cat 5C - I wanted to try an inside stateroom with magic porthole, but wanted to be more midship since that's where dh likes to be.
This is our 7th dcl cruise but our first member's cruise and I am so excited about it!!
I can't wait to get to know all you better!!

So those who have been on MC before how do the dining arrangements work? Is it the same if you booked a regular cruise. Like me and my DH were paired up with couples with no children and were around our same ages. Does the MC work the same way? Do they look at your previous profile and keep things the same? MS did tell me she was putting me in the second seating which is what I preferred without telling her. Just curious to know.

DH & I were paired with other couples on the 1 other MC we were on together. On the MC in January, I was with DSis, & DCuz, we were seated with a family of 3, Mother, Father, adult daughter. Perhaps, it was because we were each a group of 3, so I really don't know.:confused3

Count us in! It will be me, my best friend and my daughter(13). We are also on the sailing before this cruise. This is my first member cruise and will be my 11th DCL cruise.

I did not think I would ever get through since I got rerouted three times, on the fourth time I got disconnected while booking with the CM and finally was able to book on the fifth try. It took a total of two hours and 15 minutes.

Checking in here!! This is our second MC and fourth cruise overall… Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

For us - it will myself (Harry), my wife (Vicki), and DS(15) - Jake, and DD(10)- Keira. Our DS(19) will be joining us post-cruise. It's going to very strange cruising without him this time around….

On FB, someone was already asking about the FE. Since there is already FE talk, let me ask everyone's thought... one big group, cut off at 10, 15, 20, 25, 30? Family and adult groups separate? Don't care??

If someone wants to take this on, let me know and I will update on the first post. I'm still up in the air if I will do it. If I do, it will only be if there is a small group. (My last cruise had 3 groups of 15 and a latecomer group) With that being said, I know we will be getting a lot of "stuff" and luggage issues have almost ended us in divorce several times:rotfl:. If no one wants to take this on, let me know and I will. Thanks!!

Very excited that we will be sailing on this cruise. We have always wanted to do a MC but with DW a teacher, the cruises during the school year doesn't work.

It will be myself, DW, DS (7) and DD (3).

Well, as of 8:55 we were not going. 9:00 we decided to go! We are booked after about 2 hours of busy signals, being on hold and than reserving rooms. 2 rooms on deck 7, 8c's. Categories were selling out as we were speaking. It will be Me, DH, DS19, DD18, DD16, DD12. Dates never worked out before due to school schedules. DS even starts college after Labor Day which is unusual. I still can't believe we are going! Going to Aulani the week before and flying directly into Orlando from there.

So exciting to read everyone's story!!

I agree!:thumbsup2. It was crazy yesterday morning. My total time on phone was also 2 hours. DH & I are going on a Double Dip CC cruise on the Wonder in October, so we were going to pass on this MC. On Thursday, I got the idea to try to go with a friend, and i was so excited when she agreed to go. This will be my 10th DCL cruise, so I will be Platinum for our October cruise!

DH and I are going. We bought at OKW in 1995 when our son was young but now he's married and lives in Virginia. We still love Disney and this will be our second member cruise. When we went on the Member cruise two years ago, we were seated for dinner with other people our age on the early seating. Our 37th anniversary is August 28, so when I saw the dates of this cruise, that sealed the deal for me. We are going to BLT for two nights after the cruise.

Booked same itinerary. Bwv cruise bwv. 17 and 12 yr old boys. Can't wait. From NJ

We are so excited to join in. I usually don't book this far in advance so I will get a lot of mileage (of awaiting excitement from this one). This will be our 9th but first MC. As of now, just me,DD12 and DD10. Once baseball schedule comes out I am hoping to bring DS (14) and convince DH (who is not a cruiser). Got an 8C just in case. Took me an hour and 5 minutes. From what I've read that seems good.

I am up for Everything - FE, candy exchange, etc.

Actually leaving on the Magic this Wednesday. We live in NJ and kids have off for teacher's convention. Can't wait to see all her new stuff.

What fun!

We have a home in Cape May that we share with my Sister, who lives in Toms River.

I hate to inform you but you should add anyone who you think might be sailing.
Just because your cabin holds 5 Disney might deny adding them to your cabin
if the lifeboat is full or there is no more room in the teen club for your son, etc.

Since this is almost sold out I would ask now so you are not. Disappointed later.
Good luck!

I am super excited. First timing cruising..a little nervous..it will be me my son 17 and my daughter 16. Does anyone have experience cruising with special needs kids?
I would love to join an FE group and candy exchange...having been reading a lot about FE , seems like a lot of fun

Wow, everything is on wait crazy hold guess lucky we have large family booked Deck 6. Can't wait

We live near Philadelphia but we have a place in Ventnor (not too far away). Cape May is beautiful!

Rsschneck - Good Point - thanks for pointing out. I did have a hard time getting on one Disney Cruise bc the kids clubs were full. My kids actually don't go to them so it was frustrating. I told them that they would wear bands that meant they weren't allowed in. LOL. They didn't buy it.

we're on the boat! Me, DH, DS13, DD13, DD17. I would love to join a FE for disboards--not linked to FB, as I am not a FB fan. If so, we are from DC and I am going to try to get some DC-themed items. Yippee! Elaine
