*August 2019 check in*

Also, I’m crossing my fingers that they will still have the Pineapple (aka Dole Whip) donut at Jolly Holiday when I go. I’m still seeing people post them on Instagram, but I am not sure how much longer they plan on selling them

Can you believe I've never ever had a Monte Cristo? It's been on the list to try but haven't had a chance yet. I seem to find something I enjoy and then get the same thing and eat at the same places every time. Lol. I need to expand my horizons this trip.

I have been eating a Monte Cristo at Disney since I was 8ish.... It's a top 3 tradition. I have had them other places but it just seems to taste better when I am at Disney. On a side note, The Count of Monte Cristo is my all-time favorite book, the unabridged version.

I'm finally going to try the pommes frites at Cafe Orleans., and believe it or not I've never had a famous DL corn dog, or the popcorn. I watched a YouTube review of the Hungry Bear menu, which looks delicious. I want to try a lobster roll or shrimp salad from Harbor Galley. Other than that, my list is a mile long with sweets! Oh my goodness! I am also totally off my diet for this trip!

What's all on your list of must eats??
We’re a family of four, two adults & two girls ages 11 and 13. Our must-eats are Plaza Inn Chicken (we usually get one plate & add lots of extra chicken for a moderate upcharge), Paradise Garden Grill’s Lamb and Beef Meatball Skewers, Earl of Sandwich sandwiches, Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen’s beignets, Mint Julep, Dole Whip, Cozy Cone Popcorn, Jolly Holiday’s Raspberry macaroon... I’m sure I’m forgetting something.

Has anyone tried the grey stuff? I’m assuming it’s delicious (sorry for the pun). It’s what my daughter wants.

Oh, I didn't realize those were still there (or back?) We got one last summer randomly because I had thought they were gone. It was so good but SO sweet. We shared 2 between our group of 8.

I'm a big fan of the corn dogs. We get those every trip.

I'm so excited to see the Tropical Hideaway and try all of the Dole Whips. I can fully admit I was completely skeptical about how good Dole Whip really is I was astonished when I tried it. My lucky littlest guy had Dole Whip as his first taste of ice cream as a baby. I love the expression on his face when he tried it. So cute.

Need to add Earl of Sandwich to our list. It was closed last summer when we went. And possibly Black Tap for dessert if the line isn't too big.

Ok here is my list so far. I'm sure I'm missing a TON of stuff. We will be in the parks for 5 full days plus a half-day at DTD before and after. We only have two meals scheduled so far - Minnie's Breakfast on Tuesday at 1030 and Donald's Seaside Brunch on Sunday the 18th at 1130 am. We will be eating breakfast on our own since the parks open later at 9 am and we can't wait that long for breakfast without having hangry children. I'm sure I can squeeze in more food to try.

Snacks to try
-Tigger Tail
-Mickey Ice Cream Bar
-Churro (Haunted Mansion special)
-Dole Whip
-Grey Stuff
-Macaron
-Mint Julep
-Beignets
-Dill Pickle
-Red's Apple Freeze
-Adorable Snowman Lemon Parfait
-Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num

Meals to try
-Plaza Inn fried chicken (I had it Flo's and was NOT impressed but I'm willing to try again. I love fried chicken)
-Monte Cristo
-Pommes Frites
-Bengel BBQ
-Ronto Wrap
-Mickey Waffle (Minnie's Breakfast)
-Corn Dog

Restaurants to try
-Earl of Sandwich
-Black Tap
-Oga's
-Docking Bay 7

Places we've already experienced
-Pacific Wharf, Boardwalk Pizza, Flo's V8, Red Rose Taverne, Blue Bayou, Hungry Bear Fantasmic, Corn Dog Castle/Little Red Wagon, Jolly Holiday, Plaza Inn breakfast, Goofy's kitchen character dinner, Ralph Brennan's, Tortilla Jo's

I'm mostly looking forward to snacks. I want to get beignets at the Mint Julep Bar and at Ralph Brennan's. I love all the basics like churros, Mickey pretzels, popcorn. I love the Make Mine Mocha at Schmoozies. I used to love to get a float at Paradise Pier Ice Cream, but I guess now I'll get something at Adorable Snowman Treats. My son loves the corn dogs at both the Red Wagon in Disneyland and Corn Dog Castle in DCA. We both like Lucky Fortune Cookery where I always get the Korean Beef and he gets the Teriyaki chicken. Ooh, and how could I forget the cinnamon rolls in Jolly Holiday? That will definitely be at least one breakfast for us. I haven't really booked any reservations this time except for a late breakfast at the Plaza Inn, and I may wind up canceling that too. I think we're probably going to be more casual with this trip. But lots of yummy snacks and I would be very happy.

I found that Flo’s and Plaza Inn’s chicken taste pretty different from one another, so giving the latter a chance to (hopefully) wow you is definitely worth it.

Has anyone tried the grey stuff? I’m assuming it’s delicious (sorry for the pun). It’s what my daughter wants.

I've had it 3 times, once at Red Rose and twice at BoG. While I enjoyed it, I'm not sure I will get it this trip.

Another day, another dining reservation change for us!

I looked over the menu for Carthay Circle and while we have enjoyed all of our meals that we have had there, there is nothing on the current menu that really appeals to me so I cancelled that reservation. We like the CC Lounge menu so we will grab lunch there one day. We've been to WCT a few times and have always had decent food there so I added that one in place of CCR.

So, now this is what we have booked and planned, as always subject to our changing whims! :)

Aug 19:
11:30 - Oga's Cantina - Fuzzy Tauntaun, here I come!
4:00 - Lamplight Lounge - Early dinner before WoC
8:15 - WoC Dessert Party

Aug 20:
11:30 - Oga's Cantina - might cancel this or move it to another time depending on how we feel.

Aug 21:
5:30 - Napa Rose Chef's Counter, yay!

Aug 22:
6:00 - Wine Country Trattoria

Aug 23:
8:30 - Steakhouse 55 breakfast

Also on the list of must eat but no reservations made:
Corn dog
Plaza Inn chicken
Carthay Circle Lounge
Beignets
Trader Sam's
Mickey pretzel
Jack-Jack cookie num nums
