I've seen the planning thread for Sept/Oct 2012, just wondering if anyone is going in August. We leave on 1 August for the month. Anyone else joining us?

Yes I know. Last time we were there it was September and apparently the hottest September they had had in cant remember how long. We coped pretty well. Lots of afternoon relaxing. We know to take it easy. The kids are already planning all the different places they are going swimming.

I've been going in August every year since I was a baby, and I can't imagine going at any other time. I think it feels like more of a "vacation" when it's hot out, and I love that we can go back to the pools in the afternoon and be comfortable enough in the pools to stay and play for hours! Plus, it's less crowded, and we always go for free dinng!:thumbsup2

I'm the same. I prefer it hot. January would be easier for us with no school and no ballet but it just doesn't seem as much fun if we can't swim etc.

ok...I,m waiting to hear the juicy details of your planning...details ladies, details.:surfweb:

OK, I'll start.

Leaving 1 August, 2012. There are 5 of us travelling - Me, DH, DD10, DD7 and DM. Travelling QF because we've booked most flights using Frequent Flyer points. Flying MEL-SYD-DFW-MCO. We have a bit of a wait in DFW as there were no seats using points for the earlier connection. Hoping something might open up later on.

We are staying 17 nights at Windsor Hills in this.

http://villasnext2disney.webplus.net/ This will be our 3rd stay at Windsor Hills and we just love the space and luxury it gives us.

We've bought our AP's although I'm considering upgrading them to PAP's when we get there to add in the Water Parks. Not sure yet though. It will depend on the schedule once it becomes more fine tuned. We've also bought 2day/2park tickets to Universal. Still yet to book Discovery Cove which I can't wait to do. The Discovery Cove ticket also includes a ticket to Aquatica or Seaworld. The kids really want to go back to Aquatica. This has been their favourite water park. I'd love to go back to Seaworld. But its getting really hard to fit it all in especially with shopping time. We do plan on lots of pool time though.

Meals. We don't want to book too many as we want to take advantage of the BBQ by the pool in our villa. We got a bit tired of eating out nearly every night last time. But I'm struggling to cut down the list. I'm thinking 8 dinners and 2 breakfasts. The breakfasts have been chosen by the kids - Chef Mickey's and a princess breakfast. We've done both princess breakfasts before and would be happy with either although I love an 8am at CRT to get into the park early. California Grill and T-Rex are must do dinners. Others high on the list are House of Blues, Raglan Road, Rose and Crown and Cape May. The kids really want to go back to Mickey's Backyard BBQ and I've also thought about Le Chefs de France, The Wave (we loved breakfast here), La Hacienda, Boma, Tusker House, Sanaa (love the look of this), Jiko, Artist Point and Ohana. DH and I are also going to do V&A by ourselves.

After our 17 nights in Orlando, we depart on our Disney Fantasy Cruise. We have two 5D cabins booked between the 5 of us. I'm so looking forward to getting back to Castaway Cay. I'm really hoping for a cabana this time but will be ok if we don't get one. We can't book any excursions etc until May so a bit of a wait yet.

Then its off to NYC. At the moment we have 4 nights there. We are hoping for a couple of extra nights but at this stage we can't get a return flight using our points on the day we want. We are travelling home business class and really don't want to give this up. Frequent Flyers have told us to just keep checking as flights often become available. We are staying at the Affinia Manhattan. I love the location. Not much else planned here yet.

Wow that was long. I could probably go on all day though.

We've chosed our WDW restaurants now and are just waiting a week until we can start booking. I also still have to work out which days we are doing them. We have a few we've done before and a few new ones.

Our list:

Cinderella's Royal Table - Breakfast
Chef Mickeys - Breakfast

T-Rex - dinner
California Grill - dinner
Cape May Cafe - dinner
Mickeys Backyard BBQ s- dinner
Raglan Road - dinner
Rose and Crown - dinner
House of Blues - dinner

Wishes Desert Party (although I will have a while before I can book this)

DH and I will also do V & A's which we are really looking forward to.

We didn't want to book too many as we want to take advantage of relaxing by the pool at night and using the BBQ.

Its all starting to come together now.
