QOTD: Rope drop or afternoon touring?

Well, my family has every intention of making rope drop at least once for every visit we go down. I say intention because we only made it once, that is one time for all the visits I have been there. 1, uno, une. We are some sad folks Our intentions are good but sometimes sleeping in for 10 more minutes wins out. Oh that one time we made it for rope drop, we had ADR's at Akershush and went right past rope drop.

What we normally do is get to parks just a bit past rope drop and stay all day and have a different type of drop of our own at the end of the day. Body drop on bed. Tired, sleepy, and happy And we can't wait to do it again this year!

The green shirts are done with a stencil I cut out of a plastic report cover. Lay it down and spray with a spray bottle mixed about 50/50 bleach and water. Super easy and fast. I'd spray them, watch fade for less than a minute then dunked them in a bucket of water.

Thanks so much - I think the green shirts would be much easier but perhaps I'll meander into a fabric shop and check out the tie dye section That would be a great way to be able to wear a simple t-shirt which is great for August heat in FL plus look fun

We are staying at Pop for 2 days, because we have never been there, and we also want to check out AoA while we're there. After that, we switch "back home" to POR, our FAVORITE mod. We are in love with Alligator Bayou, the landscaping, having the boat to DTD.Walking around that place in the early morning w/ the mist hangin over the Sassagoula and the sun rising...sigh...We just love that place

We chose to stay at POR, which is our second home. We love the boat to DTD, the water activities (sea racers), the landscaping, the foodcourt. I tried to book AOA to check it out but the kids wanted no part of it.

We are staying 2 days at All Stars Music to save some money but add 2 days to the trip. Then we are at AKL, its the place I always dreamed of staying. I love the theming and it has a relaxing feel to me. I am excited. We also loved that there is a balcony so we can relax outside at night after the park.

My mom and I are doing a split stay at the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club.
The Wilderness Lodge is like home to me (well it is our home resort for DVC) because it's one of the first Disney resorts I have ever stayed at. Once you enter the lobby, you are just blown away. The whole resort is just beautiful. I haven't stayed there in a long time and I can't wait!
The Beach Club was my grandmother's favorite Disney resort, but she never got the chance to stay there. So we are going to stay at the BC in memory of her. And plus it's an amazing resort! Who doesn't love the smell of the lobby?!

It is not official yet, but it looks like we are staying at CBR. We love the theme, pool and food court. Plus with the code, it will be the cheapest of the moderates and my DH's sister is staying there at the same time. I was hoping for POFQ just because of the benots (sp?).

We're staying at AoA because we love the theming and concept, and wanted to see what a "Value Plus" resort was like, since we normally stay at Values. We're bringing along my mother-in-law, so we also needed room for 5. The final deciding factor, though, was the rich detail of the Cars section. DS4 loves, loves, loves Cars and we just couldn't imagine going and not staying in that section for him. We can't wait!!

It's not official for me yet either (hence no ticker). But we are planning to stay at AKL standard view due to the great deal! Though we should probably stay at ASMu or POR (POR is my perfect taste, but the deal with AKL makes it not much more per night, I'm not sure I'd enjoy ASMu even though that's the best deal I could find). Oh I forgot to say WHY besides the deal. DH and I LOVE animals so I think we will LOVE staying at AKL!

I love the smell of AKL........We always make sure we visit there for a meal, just so I can smell the place. It smells like a wood fired BBQ and I love the music they play in the lobby!

Glad I found this post, since I had to tell someone!! Today, i booked our first trip to Disney World! And since this is an anniversary surprise trip for my husband, I can't even share it with him (it is killing me, since he is usually the one that surprises me!).

We booked at POR with free dining (August 31-Sept 5)! And just booked the flights too, flying out of Buffalo for only $240 pp. The price may come down $20 or so, but I couldn't wait any longer. So excited!

That's awesome! You will love POR! It's one of my favorites! I can't imagine how hard it is for you to keep this surprise from your husband. When are you going to tell him?!?! I surprised my husband on our honeymoon with a resort upgrade and it was so hard!! I finally told him in the airport when we landed.


To answer the QOTD:

We're staying at CBR. We've stayed there twice before and like it. Our budget mostly puts us at moderates and we've stayed at POR so many times, we wanted something different. We're also taking DH's niece for her first trip and we thought she would like that better.
