Great. Now I want to go to the Ocean on our trip too:rotfl:
I bet we could head to the beach for the day.

 84 days!

Staying at the AofA Lion King section. Got too good of a deal to pass up. Or we would have stayed at POFQ-Love that resort.

So much for your carefully crafted plans! :rotfl2:

Hmmmmmmm.........what could we ask as the next "question of the day" to help keep pigletto revising her vacation itinerary? :duck:

This trip we are staying at POFQ from August 22-26. It is just a quick trip before school starts on the 27th. The kids don't know we are going so it will be a big surprise when we go to the airport that morning.

They do know about our trip in September of 2013. On that trip we will stay at the Poly which is our all time favorite.

Question of the day.. What resort/hotel did you choose and why?

We chose POR because it is the first resort we ever stayed at and it is our favorite. Also spending a few nights at POP! to save a little money. The DH has never stayed there, so I'm excited to see what he thinks of the theming.

Ha Ha Gina:rolleyes1:rotfl:

We'll be lucky if we don't end up at Disney in Paris by the time I'm done planning this trip:rotfl:

Park Hopper or No.
Well we've done both. We usually get them if we're using the dining plan because I like many of the Epcot restaurants. I have to be honest though they are getting less and less useful for us because I don't go hard all day in the parks anymore and am happy to go for a few hours and do things at the resort now. So usually one park a day is good enough for us.

Hmmmmmmmm ........ how about Park Hoppers vs No Park Hoppers --- What do you do and why?? :confused3:confused3 :rolleyes1

No park hoppers for us....we like to get up in the morning and head to the park then go back to the resort just after lunch for some time in the pool/nap, then just before dinner we will head back to the park, unless of course we have an ADR at a resort closest to the park we are at that day.
We used to do PHs but decided that we were much better off saving the extra $$ that the add on costs and save it for something else....souvenirs, extra snacks, etc.

Yep.....us too -- no park hoppers. I usually start my planning with looking at the park hours. Then I look at easywdw and check out crowd levels. After I have all those decided, I do my ADR's based on which park we are for that day. I just think park hopping takes up a lot of time that could be better used elsewhere. It seems to work for us! :thumbsup2

Very true. It doesn't seem like much at the time, but if you add the fact that I decided to stick to standard view instead of garden view at POR and no park hoppers on the tickets.. that is $455 saved right there!
It's pretty significant when you look at it that way. I have to be careful or I end up nickel and diming myself to death on these trips. I never miss the little extras. There is so much that is special about Disney that I never feel like I've missed out.
Last trip we went with a pool view at AKL. I thought I would be disappointed and I really worried about it. You know what? We walked down the hall and saw the animals. It just didn't matter at all!!

We are not getting park hoppers...it is our first visit so I am sure there will be enough to do in each park to last us the day. Our first 4 days we are doing 1 day at each of the parks, then a rest day/dtd day. Then we have 4 more park days and can decide which ones we want to go to....and with 7 going Park hoppers would cost us $385!!! thats enough for each kids spending mony and their ear hats!!!:scared1:

We will be at the BLT on August 1-7-2012, we've gone in June,July,December so we'll see if we can handle August weather!:)

We also go with No Hoppers. I like to fully do each park before I move on to another or accomplish the most I can day one in that park and revisit that park later in the week to complete it. I dont think I could handle planning if I was bouncing around. Planning my TP for one park one day is enough to think about:confused3
We had park hoppers on our first prekid trip, never hopped- dont even think I knew I had paid for that but didnt see a need for us.

We're in the "no hoppers" crowd, too. We like to spend an entire day immersed in one park. Our last few trips have been fairly short, too, so we've only had one day per park anyway. Plus, with our party of four, hoppers are a fairly substantial cost and it's hard to see us getting that much benefit from them. My wife & I had them on our honeymoon, which was nice since we just kind of went everywhere on a whim. But now that we have kids in tow, we tend to plan better and we just build our plans around one park per day. Works for us!

We too are Anti-Hoppers:goodvibes. Morning touring followed by lunch outside the park and swimming and hangin out at the resort-and then back to that same park for it's evening entertainment. Especially in August-I could NOT stay in a park all day, I would drop:faint:

As far as our resort this time around-it's Pop. Im paying for 2 rooms and tickets for 4 adults (older kids)...so as much as I would love to stay at our beloved Riverside:lovestruc, it's either Value or offsite- And we are ONSITE people:goodvibes
:sunny:
Cheers and have a great holiday weekend!!

We were non-hoppers on our 2009 trip. Definitely found enough to do at one park to fill a whole day. Booked our dining reservations around which park we'd be at and had no problems there.

Trip 2 to Orlando in January was to the "dark side" (Universal, IOA, SeaWorld and DC), and trip 3 in August is our "sun and soaking" vacation (Aquatica, Discovery Cove again, Wet 'n Wild, and pool time at Westgate Lakes) so no Disney either time and therefore no hoppers.
