So Ive decided to dive into the PTR pool and join the party! Im very late to this game and this is my first PTR, so Ill be updating everything Ive already planned and then start going forward with regular updates. Im VERY excited about our trip and hopefully this will help me find a release!! I think I'm driving my boyfriend crazy with all of the planning!
We havent been to Disney since December 2009 and a lot of things have changed since then! We got back from the World and just after Christmas we had a wonderful surprise I was pregnant!!! While this was the best of news (EVER!), it put a damper on our next trip my 30th birthday celebration in WDW/IOA. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so we had planned to go for my birthday that October (Halloween) with my mom and my sister. As the little one was due at the beginning of October, we put the trip on hold.
Aidan was born beautiful and healthy on October 3rd, 2010 and we quickly adjusted to life with a baby. My boyfriend and I had been together for over three years at that point and my stepson, Ashton, was 7 at the time. I was totally used to having a kid around but not a baby. Im ashamed to admit that before Aidan Id never even changed a diaper!! Chris was wonderful about it and helped me out tremendously. He was right there with me for the nightly feedings and changings. I have a wonderful boyfriend.
Of course, I soon began talking about planning our postponed trip. We thought we could afford it in a year, so I tentatively thought we might go August 2011. As Ashton grew older, Chris was less inclined to take him out of school (darn that Chris!), so I thought the last week of August would be perfect. We started saving up again, but soon realized that we were outgrowing our house. We lived in a duplex that I had been in since before Chris and I were together. When I moved in, it was just me and my two dogs (Indie,a lab/pit mix, and Slyder, a beagle/pit mix I LOVE my dogs!). At this point, there was me, Chris, Ashton, Aidan, our three dogs (we adopted Izza, a German shepherd mix in spring of 2009), and a 130 gallon tank with three aquatic turtles (Dobby, Winky, and Kreacher!). All in a 1250 square foot home!
So last year at this time we started househunting and found our dream home! We closed and moved in last July and that wiped out our savings yet again! The house is a 4 bedroom (room for one more!), 2 ½ bath in Little Elm, Texas, a small community outside of Dallas. Right now, our subdivision is in the middle of farmland, but civilization is slowly creeping its way towards us! Were only about 10 minutes from that rumored location where Disney supposedly bought land and was supposedly going to build another theme park. Oh how I wish that would happen! It would be so awesome to go to a Disney park any day I felt like it!!
Anywho we adjusted to life with a mortgage and Ashton got used to his new school. At work, we were so busy that they started offering overtime. With our increased cost of living, I was glad to have the opportunity so we could start saving again! Christmas came and went, and I still a little stocked away so I tentatively approached the subject with Chris in February. He is Mr. Responsible, so he had planned to use our tax-return towards stuff for the house (do we really need a new washer and dryer when mine from 10 years ago are still working fine!). I, on the other hand, had Disney on my mind. I convinced him that he didnt have to do ANYTHING for Valentines Day if he allowed me to plan a trip. He happily agreed to the deal (SUCKER!) and off I went!!
Up next, our Cast of Characters!!
