August 2009 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Cancelled

Just a thought...

Are people booking the Must Have resturants multiple times? They grab them when they see them open online, then use them as barter to get what they want?

I really don't understand this year, we've been going to WDW on FD for years and never, never had this problem getting reservations.

If you read my post i clearly stated i was looking to switch my 8/24 to an 8/23 (ARRIVAL DATE) and my 8/27 Lunch to a Dinner time on our last night. So yes I have two Chef Mickeys reservations and plan to eat their twice during our stay. If i dont get the 8/23 so be it, i didnt know it was a crime to at least ask on these boards. FYI this IS NOT considered double booking if you didnt already know that.

Sorry if you thought I was refering to you. I was not.

I've been on this boards/WDW since our 90 day mark trying to make our reservations. Even the concierge could not get us what we wanted, everything is booked solid.

My sister will fly in from oversea and she keep changing her time

I got a booking for 20th and I cancelled it when she change date and booked on 24.

Then she changed her time again...
so ...I cancelled 24's reservation

now I have 23's ress but am hoping to exchange it for either 21 or 23

At least for me...there were available on those date and I was able to book it and cancel it..
so someone else at the time I cancelled should be able to see it as well


I did not book any of res at 90+10
This is a last min trip and I booked all my ress this month.

I said I saw available ... but did not mean it would be there for YOU to book it


I am trying to help ppl and hope ppl will do the same to me.

Maybe I am taking this WAY too serious....

Les Chefs de France - 8/21 (I have 8:50, trying to make it 30 min or so earlier)

A lot of repeats on there, but hopefully that can help somebody. Again, if anybody can help me on Chef Mickey's, Les Chefs de France on the 21st a little after 8:00 or Whispering Canyon Cafe on the 23rd between 3 and 6, I'd appreciate it so much!

I had the same thought when I saw the above post.

My only cancellations were actual change of plans, as I am sure many others are. But when you see that kind of overlap...well...it just makes you think.

I thought the new online dining ressie system was supposed to prevent double bookings??

I am just about to cancel the following due to our party size dropping last minute from 10 to 4 people. These are all reservations for 10:

Aug 19 5pm Les Chefs de France
Aug 21 8pm Le Cellier
Aug 22 7:10pm Teppan Edo

I will be cancelling tommorow once the disney lines open up again (I can't seem to cancell online for this one) a Fantasmic Dinner package for 10 at Mama Melrose Aug 20 4:10pm. I've been very lucky and able to rebook great replacements for our party of 4 allready so I hope this helps out some large group still looking for some meals during free dining.

I shouldn't need to defend myself, but I will. My vacation has changed twice, once three weeks ago when the vacation itself needed to be pushed back because of a conflicting exam one member of our group needed to take, and once just a couple days ago when a fifth person was added to the group. Those two changes left us scrambling to book what we can, and we've been cancelling a few each day as we know what we definitely won't be using.

The ones I've posted on this forum have nothing to do with bartering, but instead of flat out cancelling them, I thought the right thing to do would be to check in on this website first, just in case there was a party with a late change like ourselves scrambling to fill in those couple of restaurants they're really hoping for. I'm definitely not holding them hoping for a trade, just giving this forum a day or two before I cancel them.

And as far as the reservations system being tough recently, I think the explanation for that is pretty simple. To my knowledge, never before have people been able to sign up for the Dining Plan for FREE when booking a vacation at a WDW hotel. With the success of that promotion, lots more people than usual are signing up for the meal plan, and thus lots more people than usual are booking these popular dining locations that qualify as one meal. You'll notice that there are many nice restaurants with pretty good availability, like Jiko, Artist Point or Narcoossee's, for example, and that's because they count for 2 meals on the dining plan instead of 1. So that, coupled with the ease of the online reservations system, has led to the recent difficulty to book restaurants.

Hopefully that clears things up a little bit for those out there who think I'm some ADR bookie buying and selling reservations like it's my job.

Try booking Le Cellier again. It seems like they just opened up some ressies because I just got one for 9/3 @ 5:10 and others are getting theirs as well.
