August 20/22 or August 26-27

We had planned to go to Disneyland as part of our California trip on August 26 and 27. We actually intentionally arranged things to make sure that we weren't in Disneyland on the weekend. And now... I'm assuming the parks will be a madhouse with brand new Magic Key people those two days. UGH! So very frustrated.
We *might* be able to rearrange things to go on Friday August 20 and Sunday August 22 instead. But then we're on a weekend, obviously.

Thoughts on which days will have lower crowds? Thursday/Friday while kids are in school, but magic pass is just beginning, or Friday and Sunday, but before the magic key opens.

They are taking reservations for entry. I don't think it will be crazier after they sell the new passes. With school being in session and knowing that it's the evenings that most locals visit (after they get off of work), I would keep my original plans. Of course, it's always a mystery as to when it's going to be super busy or nicely empty.

I agree, I don't think the Keys becoming available on the 25th will increase crowds in a meaningful way on the 26th/27th. Maybe there are some people who have been waiting for "the new APs" to come out before going that will try to go right away, but I'd think that might affect the weekend more than Thurs/Friday.

I think a lot of people will buy on the 25th, but very few are going to try to go to the parks and activate their keys on that first week. If the website crashes as we all expect on the 25th, people won't even be able to actually buy and go on the 26th anyways! You're also protected somewhat by the reservation system as noted. Personally I wouldn't change plans just because of the key release date.
