Okay -- hit me now -- both Benita & I work in the insurance field :rolleyes1

But we have never bothered with the policies. We have gone to WDW every year since 1999 -- and cruised 3 other times. First two times in Sept. were fine - '01 & '03. In '04 we got hit by Francise -- and ended up staying at POFQ for 4 extra nites. Of those four nites -- DCL picked up the tab for the last nite. POFQ was nice enough to charge us the Fl Evacuee rate of $ 80. a nite. So we were out $240 plus our food (heh - the food court was closed for 24 hours so we saved money there). And DCL did comp us park passes for that Monday as well as the room ... with the shipboard credit, refund & voucher - so I don't think I lost on that deal.

I checked with insuremytrip.com -- and due to various medical issues -- pre-existing wouldn't be covered, but new conditions would be.

I called my health plan today - Oxford - Freedom Plan and had a nice conversation with them on the phone (plus the rep. told me to have fun on the trip). Turns out they will cover visits to the medical center on the ship with a $ 50.00 co-pay (like an ER room visit when you are not admitted). You just file a claim when you get in. Then I questioned them on Medical Evac... they put me on hold - for a couple of minutes - then let me know that it is covered too! But I would have to pay first and get reimbursed.

I am going to go onto insuremytrip and get a quote for just MedEvac -- since I'm not sure what would happen if I told DCL I don't have a spare $ 25,000 to be flown out -- would they take my insurance and wait for payment - or would I have to stay in their medical center.

Sheesh --- Pixie Dust to all - so we will be healty this trip! :wizard:

OK folks - I didn't think when I left home that I would be able to keep access to the boards while I've been in Seattle - but through the grace of a great hotrel and free WiFi I have been able to - and it's kept me in some form of normality! :confused3

But I head off north later on today to Victoria, BC, so don't expect to have any contact again till I'm home with Pam on Saturday.

So very best wishes to all the ailing folk and relatives, and many thanks for just being yourselves as normal (although I'm a bit worried about Jenny - I might not come back after the first day either!). :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

See y'all at the weekend.

I'm thinking about buying a cheep (about 100) underwater digital camera. I still have to decide, but it looked like a decent camera. I've got another which doesn't hold as many pics and i'm thinking if we have 2 we can give Lindsay one to use. I would then take that one to the waterpark etc. where I was worried about being splashed, and then i wouldn't have to worry as much.

Someone was asking about this last night in chat. Which one are you considering Donna?

Found this: $75.00
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CIC-221&cpc=SCH

SURF & TURF! The iCam CIC-221 digital camera lets you take great pictures on land or water. It features 1.3 MegaPixel, 8 MB internal memory, stores 17 images at 1280 x 1024 high resolution, approximately 30 seconds video clip with audio, and more. The water-resistant case let's you go as deep as 30 feet for 30 minutes without leaking. (Manual states that waterproof case can go underwater to 98 feet - however the website for Cool-iCam states 30 feet). Connect this pocket-sized camera to your PCs USB port, download images, print, and share them with family and friends. The camera is complete with a waterproof casing, waterproof strap, two AA batteries, and a USB cable.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, it is greatly appreciated!!!

I went to work this morning, only to find my work car covered in Happy 50th Birthday Wishes. My co-workers got me real good, I only wish I had my camera with me to get some photos of my work car.

Mark, Mark, Mark. Not sometimes - ONE time. Need I remind you of the Crab Dip? Hmmm?

The story for the rest of you (originally told in chat) - It was last November when I got sick from the crab dip eaten the night before. The ship's doctor put me on strong anti-puking meds that knocked me out and David had to pack for the 4 of us by himself on the last night. He kept waking me up saying "Nancy - FOCUS. What do I do with ____?"

I know of at least 4 people who ate the crab dip that night who got sick (Megan included). Seems Mark had a similar run-in with it on one of his cruises! Moral of the story: Stay away from the crab dip!! (officially known as the "Hot Crab Newburg" appetizer at Parrot Cay)

I've enjoyed the crab appetizer on several occasions without any ill effects. Perhaps my crab was not as crabby as others. :)
