Fellow Fools,

This is just a reminder that I am putting together a Cell Phone List that can be used to arrange group meetings, etc. Right now, I have 15 names/numbers on the list and could use more.

If you are interested, please PM me your Name, Cell Phone Number and email address so I can email you the list. I will send the list the beginning of August to give me more time to add people to it.

Thanks,

Reneé

My dad is in the ER now. He was in a lot of pain last night and so this morning my mother brought him to the hospital. They are running tests but it looks like he's going to have to have his gall bladder removed. Unfortunately they are in Vermont and I can't see him which I'm upset about.

Thanks Renee, I'm not sure if I will be using this 'shared' cell phone in August which is why I have not PM'd you.

Kathy, I hope your father's surgery goes smoothly. I'm sorry you can't be with him. I hope you'll be able to visit during his recovery though!

Dan--

I'm not sure what was said, who said it, or why it was said but let me re-affirm the fact that everyone from this group is welcome in chat. We each have our own styles of communication, our own sense of humor, and our own individuality. No one is better or more valued than the other and none are unwelcome.

All--

We had the pleasure of meeting Pete, Denise, and Heather yesterday at Epcot for a bit. Great company and great personalities all around! We had a great time with them and none of us were even drinking. ;)

Very well said, Kmiles.

:cat:

Kathy, Pixie dust and prayers for you, your Dad and the rest of the family, from me, Phil and Jen. Hope all goes well. :grouphug:

Dan, I seldom make it to chat :chat: but want you to know that I always look forward to your posts.

I finally figured out a title for me in the Sisterhood. I am the official grey panther rep. LOL :thewave: :tilt:

Anyone else?

Kathy, I'm really sorry about your dad. I hope everything works out well for him.

Dan, I've been wondering where you went. I didn't make it to chat last night either, but I do know that you are missed. Everyone of us has probably been taken the wrong way one time or another. It would be a shame if anyone came onto this cruise not feeling welcomed by the "group". Basically, we are a group to have "fun". No pettiness, no back stabbing, no name calling, just to have "fun". The rest of the stuff is left for high school kids and I'm so very glad not to be in high school again. So, for what it's worth, I hope you come back and join us and can have fun with the group as it was intended to be.

Ouch, such a horrible thing to happen. Hope all goes well with your Dad.

First, I have to say that I am hoping all parents and inlaws that are in need of pixie dust and good thoughts know that they are getting them from me. I know that medical science will do everything necessary to help your loved ones. I am sorry that anyone has to woory over things like this.

Now for the COP, my 88 (almost) year old mother has decided that she may come along after all. I have an email in to DU to see if I can add her to my room (should be OK) and then I will have to add insurance. Will one of you insurance savy fools give me some advise here? I have never bought insurance for a trip before, but she thinks we need it. I have mixed feelings about it. She doesn't walk far anymore, so getting off the ship will not happen, but that's ok. She doesn't drink much because she takes a hand full of pills 2 or 3 times a day. But she is looking forward to seeing the Canal, we have seen the big hole (Grand Canyon) the big hill (The one in Alaska in Denalai National Park) so she need to see the big ditch. She knows that I have friends on the internet, but I have not told her about all this!!! We will have to see if they will add her to my room at the original cost. Hey, are there any single elderly gentlemen on board?

I spent all day yesterday and up untill noon time being a weekend warrior. We tiled the back splash yesterday and grouted today. I have to get some spacers and longer screws for the outlets and then put the new covers on tomorrow and we are done. It was not as bad as we thought it could be, we didn't even have any arguments!

Again, Mel and Kathy, I know things will turn out as they should. I will be thinking of you and your families.

PS, hey Dan, guess we will have to rething the video if mother comes along!

Kathy -I hope surgery goes okay! Sending prayers for a speedy recovery

Mel - Prayers are still coming from Oregon!

Let us know how your family members are.

Val - I sent you an email with the info. we were talking about in chat last night. I hope it helps with planning you DL trip.

Dan - :grouphug:

Sent off request for river rafting, now it's time for t shirts. Does anyone know if imagestation still has a coupon code?

What a cutie Addison is. Happy belated birthday, wish I could spend the day at a pool.

Prayers and PD to all the parents out there needing them. I have had too many scares with mine to underestimate the emotions these things bring up.

Marsha, Good for your Mum. What spirit, I hope I am as adventurous when I get to 88. I do hope she makes the trip. I've got insurance for my parents for a short trip with us to France for next month. They are both in their 80's and it is a scandalous cost. They have paid £35.00 each for four days. Of course this is from England you may have cheaper insurance in the US. But, whatever the cost, you absolutely MUST have insurance. Hope it all works out and there is yet another Fool to meet. :wave2: I love senior citizens and I will be happy to sit and chat to her for hours.

Pam

Ditto to what everyone else wrote Dan, especially Lynn & kmiles. I'm very sorry to hear that you had a bad chat experience. I was wondering where you've been on the thread. I for one love your sense of humor. I really think Lynn says it best - keep the high school stuff back in high school, we're ages past those day!!! I'm not in chat as often as I'd like, but I'd sure like to "see" you there and here again. Hugs to you, miss you friend! :grouphug:

Kathy, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. It must be tough not being able to be there with him due to miles apart. Thinking of you with hugs and prayers. :grouphug:

Pam, hang in their Sister, wish we lived closer to spend time with you while Allan is traveling. Be good to yourself! Do something you love, OK?!

Allan, have a great trip to Seattle!!! We have family in Bellevue, WA close to Seattle. They, however, are in Italy right now visiting my niece who is is on exchange there for college. Otherwise, if it would work out, I know they'd love to have you visit!

Darling photo of little Addison IzziBob, Mary, and Amanda!!!

Tracy, you've got it together Sister!!! All your DL/DCA stuff done too?! :cool1:

Renee', we do not have national phone to phone coverage on our cell phones yet, but when we get it, I'll send you our cell #'s. Thanks for doing this!

Nancy, love the Iron Man contest, too funny!

Marsha, I hope it works out for traveling with your mom! I don't know much about travel insurance, I'm sure someone will be around soon to share. Best wishes!

Hope I did not miss anybody!

Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Oh man, I did forget something important! RobinMarie, thank you, thank you, thank you for more info. for shopping! After shopping yesterday at actual stores, we decided that the portable DVD player you posted about is one we cannot pass up. So, we're keeping an eye on it as to when it returns to stock and will then snatch it up! Even without the rebate it is a good deal. Thanks! You are the Shopping Sister of the Cruise!!!!!!! :cheer2:

And kmiles, very cool and great that you met up with DeniseW, Jazzman, and Heather yesterday!!! Lucky all of you to meet!!!

What's the deal on the portable DVD player?

Kathy,

Here is the info. from Robin Marie. We shopped yesterday, and the one's that were in comparable in quality and feature per the reviews were in the 199.99 price range minus tax. My dh "says" our ds can rig this with the inputs for him to use his play station too. Hope he is correct, he is an engineer & electronic geek and is usually correct, though not always. ;)

PS The company is out-of-stock on these now, so it is doubtful that one would receive it in time to obtain the rebate offer. Comes to approx. $147.00 with all costs for us when not using the rebate. We will wait until they have it in stock. Company has a fairly good rating, though some have had difficulties with exchanges when item was damaged.

I echo this, and I know things I've said have been misunderstood too. I didn't realize it until someone said something to me and we talked it through. It's hard when there's no vocal inflection or body language to give you clues to what is really meant. I hope you will come back and participate, we miss your sense of humor.

Roxanne, thanks for forwarding the info to me!

Renee, I haven't passed my cell phone number on to you because we have a vicious roaming charge when we are out of our normal calling area--I can't afford to use it away from home.
