Well I think it's cold. It's6 here and I just had to walk to the post box to get the mail.Even Max is not happy to be out too long. But I did break a sweat, all those layers!

You know this thread has become engrained into your life when:

You are watching cartoons with your dd-10, the cartoon hamster dance comes on, and your dd states that you should share it with your friends on the thread.

Then she says,

Oh, there's "Mark!"

...as she points to one of the silly-looking hamsters and gives me ROF laughter!!! Kids, gotta love them. :)

(Side note - We're watching cartoons as dd stayed home sick today - not too bad, but does have a fever, so home she is. Lucky me, now I don't have to attend an afternoon work meeting!)

Category 12 for 2 adults is available at DCL website (1 cabin) fare is 4689.78 including taxes. Let your friends know. It's still a pretty good price for a Canal crossing.

ETA - there are also cat 10,11, & 12 available on the Westbound journey.

Can we please send this artic front back to Canada? The high today is 19 degrees and with windchill an effective 0 degrees. Getting up to a foot of snow tomorrow too ! :earboy2:

Can't wait for August ! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi Erica,

I feel for you, it's 66 degrees here about 20 minutes from our embarkation port. The sun is shining in all its glory too...na, na, na, na, na, na! (Sorry, just could not help myself. ;) )

Stay warm, I really do feel for all of you with the cold weather.

We will be going to DL/DCA in a few weeks, and I'll pick up the maps for you. I'll PM you when I do.

Take care, and dream of sitting in the sun on one of the DCL decks!

Ivanova, while i am glad your friend got in, but i just don't get it...I thought there was a LONG waiting list and thought it was given to the next person on the list...I just don't get it how it works.
I don't get it either. I have other friends on the waitlist too that haven't been called (but have since changed their minds and don't want to go) ... I grabbed the cat 9 simply because if I passed it up and put her on the waitlist I wasn't really sure she'd ever get called.

Ha, ha, ha! Sorry girlfriend and Fearless Leader! Really, be safe driving to see your new nephew. Take some photos, I'd love to see them when you get home! Safe travels, and enjoy!

If anyone needs DL maps etc, I can have Howard pick some up the next time he works, and mail them off, or any other stuff from DL for that matter.

We're finally into some better weather here too. Currently 70 degrees with clear, sunny, blue skies! :flower1:

LOL, Erica. Actually, we'd appreciate the "heatwave" of 19 degrees here! Our current temp is -6 F with a windchill of -19 F :earseek: :earseek:

We're also scheduled for 8-10 inches of snow tomorrow. Guess I'll just stay home and "chat" with all of you tomorrow night! :cheer2:

Congrats to all of you "warm weather" people - I'm glad you're enjoying the lovely weather you have now. :D We're jealous in the winter, but I know the heavy rains, mudslides, and hurricanes are very hard to live with at other times of the year for you. There's no "one perfect place" on this earth to live, so may as well make the best of wherever we happen to be!

I would love a DL map!

Well, here in RI we are in a Blizzard watch, and they are predicting 10-18 inches Sat night into Sunday. The stores are selling out of bread and milk!!!

Denise

Cruise is about over!! They offered us free Bahama Mamas on Deck 9 for 1 hour. Sandy had 6, we didn't make dinner!!

We're flying home to Long Island tomorrow afternoon, I guess we're in for a rough ride again. They're expecting snow, maybe up to 10 inches. Hopefully after we land. I would hate to be diverted; and to where??

Mark

Mark -- what time is your flight out of MCO ? Currently they are predicting (take with a large grain of salt) the snow to start sometime in the afternoon - and conditions getting bad around 4:00 PM .... :grouphug:

Suffolk is supposed to get the most .... since it is a coastal storm. I'm in Westchester & we are supposed to get 12" plus.

:cat:

This must be a very large storm. They are forecasting the beginnings for here around noon. We are to get 7 inches during the day tomorrow. Followed by at least 7 more tomorrow night. I could deal with this but on top of this they are telling us we will be having winds of 20 mph with gusts to 30 tomorrow during the day. On Sunday we will have snow showers in the AM and flurries in the PM. But the wind will be picking up and giving us gusts in the 40 mph area. Since it is so cold this is going to be light fluffy stuff. The roads will be a disaster. We have several that blow closed with just a little snow. They'll be closed for hours. Went to the supermarket this morning and joined the happy throngs buying bread and milk. Although youngest DD pointed out that they weren't out of milk and bread, they were out of chips, dip, and soda. Eagles had better win. :cheer2::cheer2:

I don't envy those of you with warm temps and Sun. We get those too. And we don't often have mudslides, multiple hurricanes or earthquakes. So in the end it all evens out.
Everyone enjoy your weekend no matter what the weather.
