A man placed some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother and started back toward his car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at a grave.

The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating, Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?"

The first man approached him and said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I've ever seen before. For whom do you mourn so deeply? A child? A parent?"

The mourner took a moment to collect himself, then replied,
"My wife's first husband."

We're back!! Had a great cruise with the best weather and seas of any so far!

How in the hell do you use this board now?? Does it come with any directions?

Spent most of the day today making sure Mary did the laundry right!! I think she is qualified to help whatever the gals group is now called! It will be nice to have clean clothes for the entire cruise!!

Someone mentioned the shuttle from Hojo to the port. It still has space, and the cost is about 10 bucks a head right now, but will be less if more go! I will ressurect that list and post an update soon.

Looks like Melinda spent more time online than cruising! I talked to her Bob Friday before we left and we both agreed she needs to get a life!! She wanted to have us post live from the Magic and Wonder. Since I had no plans to buy unlimited internet (sorry guys...you ain't the most important thing in my life...at least not while I'm on another cruise!), I agreed to PM her at 75 cents a minute with some Magic updates. First time I tried, it was after the website changed, and I tried to send a reply to her PM to me. Typed a nice long reply, and hit "submit" and the sucker went nowhere!!! Lost everything...now I'm watching the clock, cursing to myself, trying to figure out how to navigate this thing. Finally sent a PM that went...27 bucks later!!!

Did get a contact name and phone # for the dining grouping effort. I will get that info to Melinda to keep her busy!

I know this got posted in our "Live" thread, but lost something in the translation. The undoubtedly most memorable moment of the trip had to be the naked lady. Unbelievable. Here we were at St Martin. for those of you who have been there, you know your ship can dock on either side of the pier. The Magic was on the right side. Directly across from the Magic was the Celebrity Zenith, about 50 feet away. Get to PC a little arly for dinner and there is a line outside the entrance along the hall by Promenade Lounge. We're casually looking out the big windows at the Zenith. Its an older ship wiht cabins with big square windows. It is just turning dark, and the rooms were all lit up. Directly ( I mean DIRECTLY) across from us was an open curtain, and this old guy in his BVDs facing us bent over. Slowly we see him pulling on his pants! Right behind him out comes this lady, butt naked, walking around the cabin. Passes by 2 or 3 times. No attempt to close curtains. At the first passing my lovely wife shrieks out, "She's Naked!!" Now half the Magic (well, at least everone in line near a window!!) is looking out the window! The woman was last seen heading back into the bathroom stark naked. Interesting dinner conversation...How could she not realize everyone could see, or did she know and not care??

One bit of trivia. I have seen threads asking about electrical outlets in the room. There is the one by the desk, but as soon as you try to plug in anything with a power coverter, you quickly realize it is useless. Well, after 8 cruises, I found another outlet that you can actually use. It's behind the TV!! If you slide the TV out on its rack, you can get behind the TV to the dual outlet there! TV plugged into one side, and the other is yours to use!!! Wow!!

Got to go take a nap before the show! No show????... O yea, cruise is over!!

Will try to post tomorrow everything I found out about our upcoming cruise!!
Bob

Welcome Home Bob and Mary!!! Bob, it sounds like you spoiled Mary for her birthday as is well deserved...way to go! Too funny about the naked lady and old guy. :)

Well, dh & dd and I went shopping today. Now, we are treating ourselves each to a big bowl of Baskin-Robbins peanut butter and chocolate ice cream as our reward, lol!

rsschneck - Good one! See, Mark isn't the only one with the funny stories, but he sure is the king of them. ;) Mark, you add a lot of fun to this thread...but, don't repeat that I said this to anyone...the Sisterhood may not like me stating this, lol!

Off to watch a video and sit by the fireplace. Sure has been a cold winter as far as CA weather goes. That either means a mild summer or a very hot summer. Let's hope for the first for all of you visiting our beautiful state in August. Cheers!

HMMM...Makes you think,huh! :smooth:
What I think is that there may actually be some life in this so called "Sisterhood". One by one you're each coming over to the dark side. If nothing else we should have one heck of a good time together.

Once the excursions come out we should try to book at least one as a group. Something we can laugh at. On my last cruise we did the sting-ray swim. Every child was squealing and climbing on top of their parents heads. I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. My son was freaking out and Sandy was throwing bait(squid) all around me so I was like an island to my son. He couldn't get any higher on my head. The rays were bumping me and actually climbing up my back. Our boat dropped anchor in about 6 feet of water and we kind of swam to the sandbar. On the way back to the boat my daughter saw a ray coming to her, and with no place to go she tried to climb up on Sandy who was swimming next to her. Sandy was screaming for her to stop and she was screaming to get her out of the water. I was trying to help the situation best that I could, but I ran out of bait. That alone was worth the price of admission. It was one of the best times I had on the cruise...Mark

Welcome back Bob and Mary. With both izzinmac and bmwdsny back online we should be able to keep this post more active.

Bob, do they know who will be Cruise Director when we cruise in August? We should be able to get them to at least acknowledge a group of our size at some functions.

I know what you mean about those high internet costs!! On our cruise I think we should combine our money and all use 1 person's account. Any "Life from the Ship of Fools" updates can be handled by a person we choose. I vote to elect Melinda as the person to post our updates. Any body second it? Since she doesn't want to spend her time sorting clothes maybe she won't mind posting updates instead!!

We'll also need at least one evening meet at one of the clubs/bars while all the kids are at the clubs. I'd love to see 3 "Ship of Fools" Disers going up for "Match your Mate". The shouts from the audience would be as much fun as the show.

I love to see the members of the sisterhood get up on stage for the Gloria Gaynor sing off. I've got a picture in my minds eye of Melinda on stage with a feathered boa thrown around her neck mouthing the words to "I will survive". Melinda, with over half the audience made up of our group, you're sure to win!!...Mark

GRUMBO'S REAL GOVERNMENT JOB!

In honor(honour) of the sisterhood:

On a Trans-Atlantic flight, a plane passes through a severe storm. The turbulence is awful, and things go from bad to worse when one wing is struck by lightning. One woman in particular loses it. Screaming, she stands up in the front of the plane. "I'm too young to die!" she wails. Then she yells, "Well, if I'm going to die, I want my last minutes on earth to be memorable! No one has ever made me really feel like a woman! Well I've had it! Is there ANYONE on this plane who can make me feel like a WOMAN??"

For a moment there is silence. everyone has forgotten their own peril, and they all stare, riveted, at the desperate woman in the front of the plane. Then, a man stands up in the rear of the plane. "I can make you feel like a woman," he says. He's gorgeous! Tall, built, with flowing black hair and jet black eyes, he starts to walk slowly up the aisle, unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time. No one moves. The woman is breathing heavily in anticipation as the strange man approaches. He removes his shirt. Muscles ripple across his chest as he reaches her, and extends the arm holding his shirt to the trembling woman, and whispers: "Iron this."

The LooneyFOOLs have hired a gorgeous, tall, built gent with flowing black hair and jet black eyes to iron the
Sisterhoods' clothing while on the CA to FL DCL.

What a great deal, can't wait to send in my clothes...Is there a guaranteed conversation included with each order??? Hey, I'd even be happy to watch him iron so as to save delivery time and $ for the LooneyFOOLs. As much as we love and are very committed to our significant others, we of the Sisterhood do enjoy the beauty of nature, so thank you very much for the opportunity.

What? Editing? Uh, don't know what you are talking about. But, thanks again for our special ironer. We sure will enjoy this special service. Melinda our fearless leader will be very happy to see this new update.

LKWD_Stories.jpg

Have you enjoyed the Desperate Dis Wives? Well this week we start a new show called Lakewood Stories. This show will focus on a small California town where the local hardware store isn't the only place to see a little vice! Our story centers around a local housewife called Barbie, a fictitious character, who's life centers around her family, her home and her PC. Tune in regularly to keep up with her escapades...Mark

Hmmm…sounds pretty good, but can you insert that the fictitious character is a working woman as well as a mom AND please oh please, trash the “Barbie” name…No, No, and double No to the “Barbie” name! (Just wondering when we meet you Mark - Which famous literary author are you???…by jiminy, you are a very creative soul… Look forward to the upcoming episodes; Lakewood will never be the same!).

Our cruise director was Rachael, who will be on the repositioner. Was able to get her aside, and after a few drinks, she told me these are some of the plans that Melinda was alluding to.

Entertainment - A special Reunion Show of Seigfried and Roy. First time performing together since the horrible accident. Slightly different than their Vegas show. Since there obviously would be problems with having a real lion on board, Paige Davis’ husband, who performed on Broadway as the lion in Lion King has agreed to join the act. Roy will not perform as a trainer, but be used as a ball prop for some of the Lion balancing acts.

Special Theme Nights - Utilizing the magic of the disney Studios animatronics, DCL is planning an authentic Titanic Night, complete with fake icebergs at sea. This will be on the night after leaving Acapulco. Disney has hired the cliff divers, who are also excellent swimmers, to drag the icebergs out to sea. Disney will simulate a real collision with the icebergs, using the ships sophisticated side thrusters to simulate the shuddering that is associated with iceberg collisions. The Charles Marshal Band will be on deck performing a rock version of “Nearer My God To Thee”

Another night will be themed “A Tribute to Canada” They originally were going to do a stage show called “Great Moments in Canadian History”, but felt a 5 minute show would not be well liked. So I understand they have been able to get Shania Twain to perform, accompanied by Guy Lombardo’s Band.

Dining Rotations - Due to the 14 day duration of the cruise, DCL has decided that the three restaurants don’t provide enough variety for dinner rotations. So they are adding Palo and Topsiders to the rotation, increasing rotations to 5 locations. The only glitch is the seating capacity at Palo. Of course, with 5 rotations, each group will be smaller. Still Palo will be overcrowded, so they are going to turn that into a Stand Up dinner, with heavy appitizers from their open grill.

That's all I recall for now!

And yet another comedic writer from the LooneyFOOLs! You're going to give Mark a run for his money Bob. Even dh was laughing at your lineup summary, especially the Canadian comments ("five-minute show") lol! (Sorry Sisterhood Arlene & Janet...all in good fun! You can now tell some good & tacky CA jokes...and there are many. ;) )

Count our family in for a Ship of Fools excursion! Not sure your sting-ray excursion was your children's favorite excursion though... ...my dh would also laugh and laugh at us if we got "enveloped" by stingrays - even as he helped to save us...

I have herd that DCL have decided that on one night of the 14 night cruise you guys are the entertainment, and the show will be all yours, they have seen the quality of your writing, and have found an ideal place for the show, about a 5 mins walk from the Aft of the ship! Captain Hook and a long plank will be supplied to help.
