Better Be!!!

Ok, Bob, never mind, it the same price whether i dropped off at HoJo area or port area...and my bob can drop us off at the port and he and my dad can take the taxi ( if no shuttle) to port.
Ok, I made up my MIND!! DOn't worry about us!!

Now is there more fools staying at HOJO or HI night before the cruise???

Both!!! You haven't sent your RSVP yet???? I think you're too late!!!

What do you mean???????????? I don't remember no RSVP!!! You putting me on, you old fool!!!

Who is going to stop me anyway...I will have my car, so i can go to both!! so there!!!

Well i am going to need 6 seats!! You don't have enough.

Melinda I think Bob said he would get a bigger bus IF you were interested.
I am using Budget. I found their prices the best and the closest to the port for the drop off. I'm picking it up at LAX for the trip to Vegas. There has been some speculation now that they will NOT provide a shuttle over to the port when I drop the van off. I'm not sweating it. I'm dropping my family at the port first, will then drive over and drop off the van and if need be will cab it over to the port by myself. I did call the Budget office in San Pedro and was assured they will provide a shuttle but as I say to have the vehicle and pick my own timing was worth it to me as we will have a vehicle for a week prior to this. Personally if I was staying out at Ho Jo's or in that area I'd probably take the bus. The camaraderie and not worrying about driving through L.A. is worth the $60 for the 6 of you.

LOTS more at HoJo's!!! Tons more...

Looks like a great itinerary.

I see you are thinking like DH!!!!
At least if they go under, all I have lost is Skymiles, not cash. That's why I booked that way.

Well, he don't need a BIGGER BUS now!!

also, i can handle LA...Been to Manhattan, NYC all the time and if i can handle NY, i can handle LA!! But thanks for your concern!! (i think)

Plus i can kill 2 birds with one stone...2 parties to attend on one night!! WOO HOO!!! and NO there are no room in my van either!!!! Don't even think about it!! HA HA!!

OK people help me with this then. We are coming in on the 13th. we need a car from LAX and if drop off at Alamo by Ho Jo it is $141.00 after tax for a full size. And for the same at Budget with Pick up at LAX and drop off at the port it is 302 before taxes.. am I miissing the boat here (no jokes, I would cry for years if I really missed the boat :earseek: )

I get the same numbers when I just ran them through their internet sites BUT Budget's site is quirky. I know when I booked mine I could try 5 times and get 3 different prices. I just kept doing it til I got a good rate. Stupid I know but I got my best rate for a mini van but the drop off location in San Pedro was the best I could find.

Grumbo

How many days till we cruise?????????????

I'm already starting to panic, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was all ready to book the flights with Airtran when DH says to me "I heard that Delta was going to lower their rates." I said O.K. I'll wait and check out their rates. Now I see Grumbo's post saying, will they still be in busy in August??????
What should I do?????? Wait for Delta or book with Airtran? Is Airtran going to still be in busy in August, should I worry about them too. I'm paying cash $607.40 with Airtran.

Plus, while we are on the subject of transportation, any suggestion on that from LAX to Holiday Inn? Looking to land at LAX a little after noon. Anyone else coming in close to our time on the 19th staying at the HI maybe we could share a van or something. :crowded: There is 3 of us DH, me and DD who will be 8.

Delta will be here in August, they got a huge transfusin of cash from AMEX last month. I checked their one ways from here to LAX and it was over $200.00 with the "new" pricing. I will wait for Southwest. I don't know what time I will get into LAX, I will probably just take a cab from there to the HI, or if HI has a shuttle or there is some other shuttle, I will do that.

If you can book cheap air now, do it. If you can wait and see, that could work too. I do know this, my DS is coming to see me at the end of the month, he has a fare of 187 from Travelocity. He went to cheaptickets.com and got the same flight for 157. He is coming in from DEN to BOS. I would prefer him to come into MHT as it is a PITA to go to BOS for me, but what;s a mother to do?

Ginger do NOT take my Delta comment seriously.
It is merely the whole airline industry.
Please realize it was a tongue in cheek comment not only about Delta's financial situation but most of the world's airlines.
I have booked with Air Canada who just came out of bankruptcy. It was either that or gas up the mini van and start driving :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Wow, been busy here today?!?! What's this I hear about a wine tasting party in Lou Ianucci's cabin?? Sounds like a great idea!!!

Ginger, although I wouldn't worry, I'd be concerned booking with any airline that is in bad financial shape. Delta is making a 'make it or break it' move. They are pushing USAir over the edge. USAir is their main rival and they compete directly in 60% of their total market. In order to compete now, USAir must lower their prices too. It's a race to the bottom. I'd bet on Delta here and avoid USAir. Relax and order your tickets.

Can you guys see it now. The Disney Magic is pulling away from her berth with the sailaway party underway, along on the pier there's a crazy woman in a car with her family honking and waving her arm out the window shouting, "Stop, I'm also a Fool and I'm supposed to on this cruise, STOP". Moral: She shoulda taken Izzi's bus!!

WRONG!!!! I will be at the port way before you get there!!! I want to check in before a BUS LOAD of FOOLS come our way and warn the poor port employees as well!!! YIKES!!!!!
:teeth:

Now where is my Eeayor list??? Hey Grumbo or Jazz, let's be more organized and put all those list...eeayor, HOJO, Bus to MCO, etc,..on the first page..Is that possible?? That way we all don't go crazy looking for it...

I can put it on the front page if you can send it to me in html format. Jazz is my html guru for making it look pretty. Izzi, Mark, KClark and Mel and anyone else that has a list can forward the info to Jazz (that is if he is agreeable) and he can put it into a table and I'll upload it on page 1.
The other option is to have a posting YOU make and can update it yourselves and I'll merely link to that post from page 1.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Now that is another event we can do!! Tour of Lou's suite!! Now who would like to be in charge of setting the appt. of the tour!! i would think one family at at time is fair enough..We don't want to go in his suite like cattles, right?

:teeth:

I would love to give a tour family by family, but I am afraid of the "walking by population of china syndrome" that was posted earlier (i.e. I would never be able to leave). So I just got a D70 for Christmas as well, so I can get pictures developed that are 20x30, which will be just like being there. :smooth:
