Mary Jo, Phil and I send good thoughts and pixies dust that things work out for you all. Hope he didn't really tear the rotator cuff. That would just be adding insult to injury. It was such fun to meet all of you on Saturday.
Tracy-- the hats for Auntie Brat went out to you this morning. Sent them Priority mail so you should get them this week.
We did have a great time in KofP on Saturday. Looking forward to the meet here in Allentown next June.

It was a lovely day here with Sunshine and a light breeze. Now this. I hope it isn't raining in Jersey. You all over there really don't need any more water.

I don't think anyone is "jumping all over DCL" about the ports...as paying customers we have a right to voice our opinions in a polite way. Maybe DCl will listen, maybe they won't. As I've stated before I realize that we are all lucky to be taking the cruise, with me seeing the luck as the ability to afford it and to take the two weeks off. The majority of people on this board did their research and made a choice backed by knowledge...it wasn't dumb luck. DCL is a business, they sold us a cruise, and with more than 365 days to go before we step on board I feel perfectly justified in voicing my opinions. This is not a dinner party where I am complaining about the food to the hostess and hurting her feelings. Nobody is GIVING me a thing. DH and I are still looking forward to the cruise, but I do not see the point of sleeping in Acapulco and I would be a hypocrite if I said otherwise. And yes, I do understand the difference between large and small issues.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I mainly just check in once in awhile. I've been noticing about your meet last weekend in KOP. I grew up in Pottstown, PA and was feeling kinda homesick! We've lived in South FL for 22 years, so this is home, but all that talk made me miss the NorthEast. So sorry to hear of the problems that peope are having. Hope things start to look up and that we can all meet to bring this baby home!

DCL is dropping Puerto Quetzal...which was too short a stop for excursions anyway, and added on to the Acapulco stop...now we're there for 24 hours. The WB repo has a day in Mazatlan...since our cruise is 6 hours shorter...time change and a little earlier arrival at the end, DCL is saying they can't do Mazatlan on our cruise. I am not happy about this...if I want to see cliff divers in Acapulco I can do so during the day, will actually see more than at night...also Mazatlan has great excursions. I have emailed DCL but have a feeling they'll be sticking with their plan for now anyway.

There are not a lot of cliff diver times during the day, I think the only options are 11:30am and 1pm, and when you have a few thousand people in port (including other ships) two times aren't enough choices IMHO. And the descriptions of the after-dark cliff diving shows sound much more spectacular too.

I have to get them into a viewable album. I will start today as I finally have all 3 computers up and running and easy access to the web. Plus I need to take "furnished" pictures. I need to get cracking, but first I have to take DH's brand new truck to the dealer for a replacement part, we didn't notice a bubble in the paint and it peeled. And just now he called and said the check engine light came on while he was driving my car to his office so I guess I will be at the dealer for a while tomorrow, too.

And this will be the last I say about the ports, opinions are fine, expressed here. We all will have differeing ones. But I am of the opinion the DCL has to make changes based on the actual time needed to get freom CA to FL, making sure the time alloted for passage through the locks is as scheduled (by the canal athority), and getting the ship back to Florida when they need it there. As I have said before many time, DCLK has never done a transitioning cruise and there are a lot of details that have to be taken into consideration.

Off my soap box for good now, and off to the car dealer.

Session #2 of chemo as yesterday, so Laura (AuntyBrat) is back to not feeling so hot ... send pixie dust, keep her in your prayers, and cross your fingers that the naseau won't be nearly as intense this time.

Hi all,

Well after long debates and still not having a clear answer on what we can do with the cabin and the infant.... DH and I have decided to cancel.
Ryleigh would have loved the adventure of DL, DCL and WDW all in one but we weighed in the pros and cons and have decided to go to England, Ireland and Paris to visit relatives instead. She will get to do the cruise again..... probably a 3 day in November for for birthday instead! But as she is still small enough to handle, lifting and carrying wise, it would probably be our last trip abroad with her and she loves her cousins!

However, we wish to extend every one of you a HUGE AMOUNT OF GRATITUDE for all your kind words, advuce and offers of babysitting, bath tub loaning and $ to help get Ryleigh on the boat! We can never repay you for your kindness but hold you ll as dear and special people in our hearts.


We hope you all have a fantastic time on this amazing cruise and though we wish we could meet you all, we will be there in spirit!

Husband came home at 10:00 a.m. today because his plant is officially closed. He is on the payroll for the next 60 days but doesn't have to show up for work unless they need him to come in to dismantle equipment. He has seen the writing on the wall for some time--they went from 1800 employees and we currently down to under 500 employees. The company is closing all three of its plants (Columbus and Perrysburg, Ohio and Pittston, PA) as of this morning. He worked for Techneglas. What a shame and these are jobs that can never be replaced at the wages that were paid.

I am not cancelling our cruise yet but will wait and see what next year brings. Mary Jo

Suzanne, So very sorry to hear you have decided to cancel the cruise. I was really hoping to get the opportunity to meet you. I think you have made the right decision to go and see relatives. Give Ryleigh a big hug from all of us, and we will keep you and the pregancy in our prayers. Even though you won't be physically with us on the cruise, please keep us updated on the new baby!!

Mary Jo, Sorry to hear of the nerve wrecking times you are going through. The unknown can be so scary!! I'll have you and your family in my prayers also. Please don't cancel the cruise until you have to!! Things may work out!! Keep thinking positively!!

To those who attended the KOP DISMeet, how about sharing some detail!!??!! Sorry so many were unable to attend!! Let us know about the good times you all had. Any pictures??

Andy, Thanks for sharing the photos of Grumbo and his "holiday". It looks like he was having fun, and acting like a little kid!! Good for him!!! Can't wait to hear all about his trip when he gets home. Not too long for you to enjoy your cruise!!(17 more days!!) (YEAH!!)

I worked all weekend (14 hr days YUCK!!) so I had quite a bit of catching up to do. I think we are worrying prematurely about the ports we will visit. Let's hold on a while and see what DCL has to offer! Bottom line...we ARE gonna have a BLAST!!!!
