Wow. I have been to DLR twice and WDW three times in the past 3 years and have never seen anything like this!

Monday Soarin', Monsters, Inc. and Crush all down at once. Tuesday outages at DLR (Pinocchio and others). Tonight we were on Small World (love the remodel, btw!) and got stuck - not sure if it was a power outage. Thank goodness we were just out of the building and were able to walk along the edge to get out - I have no idea what became of the poor souls inside the building (who will undoubtedly be traumatized by hearing "small world" repeatedly for hours on end). Not sure if that was due to power outage but sure seemed like it.

The crowds are INSANE! Early a.m. not too bad (though TSMM line was up to 45 minutes by 10:15) but evening was horrible. Like a can of sardines. People started parking their bottoms for fireworks an hour in advance and nobody could move. Walkways were jammed from the castle hub back no matter which way one turned.

Wish I had known AP holder restrictions were lifted this week - would have come last week!!

At least we have great weather. :)

I was 2 boats behind yours! After your boat unloaded, we were told to stay put. The music kept playing and playing and then suddenly stopped. We sat in silence for a few minutes before it was announced that they were able to restart the ride. The music started up again and we sat and waiting for a few more minutes before the boats got going again. By the time we got out they were loading boats up like nothing had happened.

It's on the website. It's getting harder and harder to zig and zag around the So Cal AP's. I wanted to go down before school started and said forget it! It's almost easier to take kids out of school a day to avoid it. But as kids get older and older THAT harder and harder

We got stuck in the middle of the Pirates of the Caribbean a few years ago - for 1/2 hr. They really need to turn the music off sooner:eek: when the ride gets stuck. When they finally turned it off and turned on the lights it was pretty interesting to see how the ride was put together. I would not want to do it too many times but it was kind of fun to see something you never get to see at DL.

:scared1:

That... has got to be the the most frightening thing i've ever read on the Disboard.

:lmao:

The crowds will likely die down when the schools in So. Cal start up again. MANY districts are starting on Sept. 1 this year.

We planned our quick 3 day getaway Aug 30-Sep 2 for that very reason. :thumbsup2

I spoke with my DS who teaches in OC. She says many school districts are starting a week or two earlier than usual in order to get a couple of extra weeks of school in before the May statewide testing (but that's a matter for a whole different website ;).) So, that should definitely help crowds in the next couple of weeks.

Went this past Sunday, and a whole bunch of rides were out all at once--Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and the train. There might've been more that I wasn't aware of, but all these were down at the same time. Then, a few hours later, my kids and I were on Peter Pan, and we ended up getting stuck on the ride for about 10 minutes. My 5yo was pretty terrified and kept asking if we could just get out and run out of the building.

We were there Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Tuesday around 1p.m., there was a massive power outage. We were inside the Star Traders store and the lights went off for half a second or so. All of Tomorrowland was just down for quite awhile. A CM said that Space Mountain always takes awhile to get back up and running after a power outage because they have to take each car off the track. They said they've been experiencing outages all week.

That is very strange, where are all these power outages coming from? Don't think it's the weather....

We live fairly close to DL and haven't had any outages this week.

I was one of those AP who returned on Sunday. We got there just after opening and no crowds yet. About 10-11 the crowds started streaming in and never stopped. We left about 5 p.m. and they had closed the parking structure-but I expected this. Same thing on Monday when the rest of the AP were allowed to return.

Luckily me DD is year round and goes off track this Friday. We will be at DLR a few times between now and Sept. 12 when we leave for WDW. Would love to see the new fireworks.

We didn't experience any power outages but after being at DL early in the day we crossed over to DCA and other than a quick trip in, and out, of DLR later, that's where we stayed!

Thinking of going Monday or Tuesday this week-hope all the AP holders who wanted to see fireworks or F! have seen it and it won't be too bad, if so, I'll go back next week. Love year round school!

We were there 15-20th and could not believe the crowds either. We only went to magic kingdom early and late. Spent most of the other time is DCA which was very pleasant crowd wise. I think I will go off season next time and take the kiddies out of school.

It was a crazy week, I could not believe the STROLLERS FROM H***. We are going to rethink next time, very frustrating but we had a GREAT time just not the way we wanted it to be.

Jack
