So true! Our weather in Minnesota is totally messed up! :rotfl2: Today we have had storms, heavy winds, more storms, sticky weather, cool weather, storms again and now....at bed time....it is getting really hot and sticky again.

The worse is that my internet service at the lake is horrible today. I am hoping it will be better tomorrow!
Frigging messed up is a perfect description! My son was able to mow the lawn was the storms rolled in, and it dropped to 73! Then a few hours later the sun was out and the heat index was back at 115! It's super super sticky again.

Coupon Code: GETREADY PIN: 1106
Coupon Code: SAILAWAY PIN: 4523

Not sure when they expire & I didn't find a minimum required purchase. Good luck.

Thanks, I did find a code right after I posted. They were all out of white though, so I had to try black (afraid it will be hot) and I ordered white in tall. She is tall so maybe those will work.

:goodvibes:goodvibes GOOD LUCK in NYC !!!
Where will you be eating ? ;) Suggestions for us ? ( We'll visit NYC for a couple of days :cool1: AFTER the cruise )
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tim !!! party:

HERE we have been around 95°F over the past days :sunny: ... Sometimes I wish I could have some  freezing airconditioning - as they use to have in Florida ;);)
though I am NOT a fan of air conditioning ...
laura

The temps just have been brutal here lately... I guess it's better than the crazy winter we had here?! :confused3 The way I look at it - when it's cold, you can keep adding layers to keep warm.... when it's hot you can only remove layers to a certain point  :scared1:

We will be dragging along a friend of Tim's... so with 4 kids and 2 sweaty parents - there's not going to be any fine dining in NYC for us!!! Probably going to John's Pizzeria. What kind of food are you guys looking for in NYC so I can possibly making a recommendation? You still doing the food tour as well? Please make sure you follow up with a review on that, too. We're interested in the value of the tour, etc.

Here are some more fun questions for us to chat about in addition to what we are most looking forward to...

EXCURSIONS!

At this point, I don't think we are doing any excursions but I am always interested in investigating ideas. :goodvibes

1. What sort of excursions have people done in Nassau before that they have enjoyed?

2. I was looking at the Island Marketing site that was posted and know that some of you are looking at beach options. Has anyone every done a snorkeling and sailing excursion? On our last cruise we were suppose to go to Tortola and had a wonderful day-sail excursion on a catamaran reserved...never got to do it because of our itinerary change. Guess I still wonder about finding something like this in Nassau but wonder if it would be as beautiful or if it would be worth it. I would LOVE to hear if anyone has done a day sail excursion in Nassau (not a short little Disney one though).

3. DS is really interested in parasailing at Castaway Cay. I think it is really expensive for such a short little experience. Has anyone done this and think it is totally worth it?

Of course I am still holding out that by chance I will get a cabana....:rotfl2:

Feel free to share about what you think the best excursion was that you ever did! :goodvibes

Ds and and I did parasailing last time and loved it!!! We are doing it again this time on the first day at CC, come join us!! DS got to go up twice last time, cause there was a teenage girl that neede someone to go up with her and her mom didn't want to go!!!

We did the Atlantis in Nassau and loved it. The price was much lower 2 years ago through Hotel.com. Now, it's just way too much money to spend for the day.

DS and DH did the parasailing in CC and they really enjoyed it. It's one of those things that you do once. They felt it was very safe and well run. We felt it was worth it.
They just walked up and did it, not reservation ahead of time.

I went parasailing once. It wasn't at Castaway Cay, but in St. Pete, Florida. I thought it was an amazing experience and plan on going again at Castaway Cay.

When are you going parasailing?

We've done the Dolphin swim, Dolphin encounter and observer at it's Blue Lagoon on various occasions.
Toured Atlantis including the Dig.
The pirate museum.
Went around to the jewellery stores picking up all the free samples of semi/precious stones.
Passed by Senior Froggs (even though we don't drink)
Did a private island tour.
And our favorite was doing the Segway and Beach experience tour.
All these have been on various trips to the Bahamas.

Parasailing on Castaway Cay was great. I did it in Tandem with DD14 in April.
If it's windy they will cancel the tour. The tour was totally worth it. BTW if you go, let them dip you (just your feet) into the water while sailing, that was awesome.:yay:

Ahh, yes...getting dipped was fun!! They didn't ask me, but did it anyway!!

It is beyond hot here this week, since Saturday. I can't see out of my windows because they are all covered in condensation LOL. We have heat index of 112-120 this week. It's more humid here than in the rainforest this week. Wish I had water to sit by, my pond is NOT what I'd want to jump in to cool off, I'll leave that to fish, frogs and turtles.

Wow! You guys are having some HOT weather!!! It's only in the 90s here this week!!

Candy and Randy, sorry for your loss!!:grouphug:

Ok this is really off topic, but is anyone watching Americas Got Talent? This pole dancer guy is unreal, I love him!!

Holy smokes, today was the hottest day since 1966. We broke an all time record for high dew point, it was 82! The heat index was officially 119 in the metro, probably even warmer to the south of the cities. Tomorrow is supposed to be 100, with a dew point in the upper 70's. Crazy stuff!! It's still 91 with a heat index of 104 at 10pm, ewwwww.

Has anyone noticed that bike rentals on Castaway Cay are "sold out" for either day or the two day special? Can't believe they'd run out of bikes to rent, even with the increase in people...

To those of you who have been, or will be speaking with DCL regarding port arrival times: I have seen that although we have a time assigned to us to arrive that the computer will be generating the boarding number (not handed a number at arrival). So, do you think if our arrival time is 10:30-11 am and and we are assigned a low number but arrived later we'd be allowed to board quicker, thus reducing our wait time inside the terminal? I'm probably not asking that right. :confused3 I guess that would work if they enforced the computer boarding numbers, right? It's really the getting into the building that's making me most paranoid.:scared: Once I'm inside and checked in I don't mind waiting.

Our hotel is close to Times Square , so we would like to WALK to our dinner venues , this is -I guess - an Italian habit , we don't like to drive after our meals !!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Marco and I would like to try a restaurant where NYC people go and eat !! :)

Yes , we are doing the China town food tour !! So far all reviews on TripAdvisor are excellent !
I'll post how it was - when we get back to Italy.

Same here !! :goodvibes

I too am a bit concerned about waiting outside in the SUN ...

Let's hope that DCL can have everything figured out BEFORE OUR CRUISE ! :thumbsup2

Ciao !! laura :)

UGH!!! This is when I'd hibernate in the indoors (A/C). I HATE heat. WDW in Aug may kill me. At least I have DCL to look forward to for recovery. You think you're a grumpy, Marco, you haven't seen me hot with 3 kids.

I agree about the cold vs hot. You can add layers to get warm. Not as easy to get cool. I think I may have to invest in one of those spray fan thingies in the park.

Today and tomorrow are supposed to be record breaking heat!! Good thing thing the kids are not in school they would be getting out early!!:rotfl::rotfl:

I would take the heat over the snow any day!! After last winter. I say bring on the heat. Great day to hang out by the pool!!
