HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Harry - Great job on running today! We went out and ran 5 miles but it was snowy, icy and 7° (-3° windchill)! :scared1:

Kristin - Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend!

Janeanne - I hope your family had a great day together!

Nice pictures of HH, was it warm enough to swim down there? Looks like they had alot of fun stuff for the kids to do for the holidays.

The weather worked out pretty good for us - Thanksgiving was the warmest day for the whole month of November as the temps were in the upper 70s. For the most part the temps were in the 70s while we were there. The pools are heated anyway, but the warmer outdoor temps made the venture out of the pool a bit more bearable! :rotfl: The ocean was definitely too chilly for swimming.

HH always has a pretty good activity list - there's always something to do.

Hi -

We are leaving on the 12th and heading to the Hard Rock at Universal until the 16th. We have never been...so looking forward to it. We are also traveling with another family too that have never been on a Disney cruise...can't wait to get them hooked like us!

We stayed at the Hard Rock in August and had such a wonderful time! Harry Potter was simply amazing, and staying on site allows you front of the line priveledges for almost every ride, which saves so much time...and in that August heat, you can't put a price on that!!

So glad to hear you had a great time at the Hard Rock. Everyone thinks we are nuts for going in August, but we can't wait! We are hoping to do the parks in the morning, pool in the afternoon, and back to the parks at night. That's the plan anyways :)

That's pretty much what we did-- the extra park hours in the mornings are a great time to hit harry potter- and they have a lot of water rides to cool off!
What a great way to start your vacation!!!

Borrowing DD's computer to post tonight. On Sunday night the hard drive on my Mac fried! :scared1: Thankfully everything is backed up but I will be without the computer for 2-3 weeks while it is repaired...:sad2: This means I am not going to be on much while we share a computer.

Did everyone see the new video posted today on the Disney Blog of Remy's? I am almost positive that DH and I will not be visiting that restaurant but it does look really nice!

Harry - Great photos! Looks like tons of fun!

gottolovedisney - DD would LOVE to visit the Harry Potter area! She is a HUGE HP fan. I almost consider looking into staying there for one night just so she can check it all out.

Jen, I hope you get your photos back soon.

Harry, GREAT photos....

It is freezing here in CT!!

If you can manage it, DD won't be disappointed! When we went, I have to say that we were not big Harry Potter Fans at all...but it is just such an incredible site to see. Since our vacation, all of the kids have really gotten into it.

Totally freezing in MN today!!!:sad2:

It was 4° this morning when DH and I went out running - with the wind chill it was BELOW zero! We had to wear several layers, a face mask, a hat, gloves and I wore my YakTrax (attachments that fit on my running shoes so I don't slip in the snow). I swear it takes longer and longer to get dressed to go out and run. Part of it is just getting all the gear on and part of it is convincing myself that I need to get outside and run.

It is a good thing that I have the pressure of the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February!

We are getting REALLY excited for that trip and I am already dreaming of warmer days!

Happy Sunday everyone!
Jen

Yesterday we took Ben to Hershey Park for his 5th bday.

It was COLD, no FREEZING!!

Hershey has a limited opening for their Candy Lane promotion. Basically all the smaller rides..no water (duh) and no coasters. It is only $10 to get in! :thumbsup2

We had a great time in spite of the cold.

I kept comparing Hershey to WDW ...I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't fair.

Food at Hershey is WAAAY overpriced, we spent $5 more dollars on dinner outside of the park at Applebees (including dessert) than we did on a counter service lunch inside the park.

After dinner we checked out the drive through light show Sweet Lights. REALLY great experience and worth the $20/per car.

We've done Hershey at New Year's several times over the last few years. Only once was it actually not "freezing cold". You are so right about the food prices - plus standing around eating when it's 25 degrees outside isn't too fun either!! We usually go over eat at Chocolate World - it's warm inside and the prices are more reasonable. Sweet Lights is pretty good as well!

We made two trips to Hershey this past summer so we're going to pass on a holiday trip this year.
