August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 2

Hi Everyone,

We were having a GREAT time until yesterday!! We got a terrible phone call while we were getting FP for Test Track. A second grade teacher at my girls school died suddenly of a massive heart-attack yesterday morning. The girls are devasted, as we are. She was a WONDERFUL young, teacher and person.

They were soo upset last night and this morning. But we did go to the Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party tonight and that helped them feel better. This morning, all we did was hang by the pool and we were all so upset.

I have to say usually we are never ready to go home while we are in WDW, but this trip we are anxious to get home to our school/community and help all of our kids and families get through this difficult time......

We arrived home safely, tomorrow night will be rough we have the wake for the teacher and the funeral on Monday...

Thank you, tonight was very tough. The kids did not go I did but it was soo tough. I have to say one of the toughest things I have ever had to do..Thank you, for your kind words!!

I received an email today with news regarding the Fantasy. I know it is not even 2011 yet but I do want to take a cruise in 2012 too. So, if anyone else is interested here is the info that I received.

BREAKING NEWS! The Disney Fantasy will sail on it's maiden voyage on April 7, 2012 with a 7-night Western Caribbean Cruise. Bookings will begin on October 20, 2010. The Fantasy will be doing both Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises, with sail dates available from April to September 1, 2012.
~7-night Western Caribbean Cruise dates: April 07, 14, 28; May 12, 26; June 09, 23; July 07, 21; August 04, 18; September 01
Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Castaway Cay
~7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise dates: April 21; May 05, 19; June 02, 16, 30; July 14, 28; August 11, 25
St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John, Castaway Cay

I was just coming to ask if any of our group has jumped ship (or plans to.) We're sticking with this cruise (for now at least!) but moved 3 of our dummy onboard bookings to various Fantasy bookings today for 2012.

Since we've never been able to rebook this cruise to get the rebooking benefits, I personally hope someone with a family of 4 in Cat 9A drops as we get closer (but not anyone on this board of course), though prices may have risen since we booked to the point that it may not make any sense to rebook.

Made another cruise reservation for the Fantasy. What do you think about the connecting staterooms 9007 & 9507 up front on deck 9?? I was wondering what the space around the rooms are used for. Might be noisy. What do you think?

Even though we booked this cruise on day one I don't think I ever posted on this meet thread. Maybe because in the back of my mind I kept thinking a 5 night cruise was just too short, especially when we have to fly cross country to cruise out of FL.

But I thought I'd pop in and let you all know that we let go of 2 staterooms to book a longer cruise on the Fantasy. Not what you're looking for HallsofVA, sorry.

But in case anyone else is interested, 7690 (6B) and 7675 (10A) went back into inventory today. We had 2 people in the 6B and 4 people in the 10A. If anyone has been looking for either, I hope you can snag them.
