Hello,

My Fi and I are going to honeymoon at Disneyworld in August and because we are still in college, we are on a tight budget. What are some romantic ideas I could pull off for him without spending my life savings? Are there any especially romantic areas or activities? I want to surprise him a few times, even if it is just little romantic things. Any ideas?

Hi Hon
I have a couple of ideas

1. Romantic evening Carriage Ride at Port Orleans Resort.

2.Depending on the Resort you are staying at ask if they can make you a "Meal to Go" and head to the beach at the Grand Floridian for a picnic,
watch wishes from the beach.

My son's plan (with the help of his mom)
He has asked me to pack a small beach throw and a couple of plastic wine glasses and a small bottle of wine(well insulated) a small box chocolates into my suitcase. His Girlfriend is a Vegetarian so he is going to order a cheese, fruit and cracker platter.

3. Wishes Dessert Party
at the Magic Kingdom
not sure if this is in your budget though.
usually can be pre booked two months in advance

Have fun planning

I love ALL of those ideas! I'm definitely going to pack some surprise stuff like the wine and chocolates. And I'm going to go look into the carriage ride right now! Thank you!

Close down MK this could be midnight or later depending ...
Get your self some desert from the bakery on main street then
go back to seating by the water near the palace (just to the right of the castle)

After park close this late it will mostly be quiet and the caste is lit and music is playing...

congratz and just enjoy each other, and have a good time.

There is so much inexpensive fun to be had at Disney!

You could take a romantic stroll down the boardwalk at night when it is all lit up and even stop at the bakery for a dessert then hop on the friendship boats via the Swan/Dolphin and head over to a park to see fireworks.

Order in breakfast in bed one morning.

Epcot at night is fun and there are usually mostly adults there. You can grab a drink and stroll throught the countries while taking in the various shows.

MK at night! Grab and ice cream and watch the parade on Main St. Watch Wishes or any of the other great shows they put on at night. The castle all lit up is just beautiful!

We like just walking around at the Poly or GF. They are both really pretty resorts with lots of areas to just sit and relax. You can take a monorail from any park to either resort.

Your Disneymoon is what you make of it, it doesn't have to be expensive to be fun. Sometimes the least expensive things end up being the most fun!

All of these ideas sound just wonderful. This is exactly the kind of stuff I am looking for! I cannot wait! Thank you all so much!

Hi there! As someone else planning their Disneymoon, I can say that sometimes the little things can be the most special! If you can swing the photopass, do it (we had someone buy it for us as a gift!). Taking all kinds of romantic photos together is so fun and the photopass people will pose you in memorable ways, like a proposal shot in front of the castle. If not, definitely take your own photos like this! Also, dress up at least one night and go take pictures in front of the icons. Having fancy pictures of the two of you in front of the castle or hat will be so worth it! Just remember that anything can be romantic if the two of you are happy and together!

I'm also trying to figure out if there is any nice out of the way place to view illuminations at epcot that would be less crowded and a bit romantic. Any suggestions?

We have gone to Beach Club beach, sat on a swing and caught a few fireworks from illuminations!! Or between France and England, the bridge is also nice-does get crowded though.

Walking around Sarasoda Springs Lake side at night and taking the boat to DDT, getting a nice dessert or drink. You can do this from Port Orlenes or French quarter too!

Have fun! we are going in Sept for our 20th anniversary- without the kids!!

We loved the Wishes Dessert Party and would highly recommend it. Don't be discouraged if it's booked just keep trying because you may be able to get in on a cancellation. I tried for over a month and finally got a res for me and the hubby. We also love the fireworks from the Polynesian Beach since there are a few hammocks there to lay in. Plus you can see the Electric Water Pageant that goes through the lagoon. If you have a car you may want to try going off resort for picnic items as it may be less expensive as well. If you go to Hollywood Studios there is a nice walk along the water from the park to the Boardwalk Hotel, and then walking around the Boardwalk. France and Italy in Epcot both have nice little courtyards that are romantic and France has a wonderful pastry shop. Congrats and Best Wishes!!
