Anyone going? My family (kids 8,10) are looking for another family Just to hang out with long enough to go on the high rides (splash moutain, matterhorn bobsleds, Space moutian... Things like that) that us adults cant (wont?) go on. Im terrfied of hights (panic attacks) so we need help. Only the 10 year old likes heights.

i am! :)

Matterhorn Bobsleds are in Disneyland.

Depending on maturity level, the 10 year old can go in the single rider line. If he can't wait in line alone, many rides have a last minute escape before boarding, so you could wait in line, put him on the ride and then go to the ride exit and wait for him to finish. Adults can go on pretty much all the rides in WDW. There are height restrictions, but they are to make sure children are tall enough to ride.

We booked a bouneback for next Aug and are planning on being there starting 8/18. When will you be there? Our family includes my two boys ages 16 & 12.

We should keep in touch. I't would be nice to meet up on our trip. I see you have many cats! We used to have eight at one time- now we have three.:goodvibes

Would be cool!! How many times have you gone to disney? Any advice for disney with kids? this is there first time (9,11) and mom and Tia's first time (50) and my first time at WDW (disneyland last year). 3 out of the 5 of us have birthdays during the trip too (if we pick dates carefully). Im excited but nervious cause the ohter 4 have never been on a vacation.

We have gone two or three times a year for the last several years. The main thing we learned is that you'll never do it all ( we still haven't!!) and that's ok. Let the kids pick what they want- mine always want to repeat favorite rides. We schedule our days but we change as our moods, weather, and the crowds dictate. It's almost impossible to do parades, fireworks, shows, and do alot of rides on a trip. The shows take up a chunk of time. So, maybe pick a favorite parade or show and plan on doing the rest next time. I love August- maybe a little hot, but rates are cheaper and crowds are lighter. I'd rather go at off times and plan to go again than go at a crazy busy time when it's really expensive!:thumbsup2

the kids dont want to do any of the shows but want to see EVERY parade and the high school musical thing (kill me now. i hate HSM). Were not a really ride overload family either. Most of us are chickens but we do know we have to do bus lightyears space blasters TWICE (Its my favortie, I did it 6 times in disney land).
we know we want to ride 20 rides at MK. We also wanna play at donalds boat and Poohs playful spot. Not alot we definaty want to see in Animal kindgom but I know were gonna do the kilmanjaro safri. Im really excited about travling in epcot. Do you know how much a passport is? Im thinking of buying one for my BFF's classroom. Hopefully she will do a disney unit before I go or when I come back.

Way COOL!!! AHHHH I would love to meet you guys.
I have about 80 million questions.
Is the passport for epcot a fun thing? Will the cast members look at me funny if I’m doing one too (I DO plan to share it with my students)
What are the most important things to know?
Do I need to put ID tags on the kids? I’m worried cause they’ve never been to anyplace this big.
Whats the most important things I should know?
If I were making a pre trip book (With infromation we need to know before we leave or as soon as we get there) what should I include?
Were going to sea world and kendey space center and the hard rock cafe (Or else) too this vacation. Im a hard rock ADDICT so its important. Im going with people who've never traveled before so im uneasy. Im also worried about where the heck were gonna board the 5 cats that cant go to grandmas. The oldest (tabby whos 14) and my two (bosco and bandit) are going to have some pampering time with grandma (who cant believe she aggreeed to have 4 cats for a week).

I think it's ok to do a passport for yourself. My sons are 16 & 12 and we do character dining- ok no princesses anymore- and have fun. The passport is a great souvenir. It's especially nice to have cast members in the countries write your name (or a message) in their language. That's great for any ages!

As far as ID tags, my kids are older now, but I liked a suggestion that I got years ago. Make sure your kids can identify a cast member (they all have the same type of name tag). If they become separated, go to a cast member and they will help. This is good advice even if they have an ID tag.

Count us in too!!! My stepson will be turning 14 right before our trip and my daughters will be 11, 9 and 6 for the trip. They LOVE the big rides and they drag me on with them.

We are planning on going August 19-27 I'd love to meet up as well. Follow along with me on my pre trip report (Link in signature ) And if we all end up with the same dates we can make a plan to meet up one day. I'm always up for a dismeet !!!!!!!

I'm so excited to see tickers that match mine!!!!!

My boyfriend and I are headint to WDW Aug 21-28 !
I have a pre-trippy also in my link!

We are also planning for AUg 2010. Not really sure what part though dh will be getting back from a deplpyment so I can' t really start planning anything till he at least leaves.
