well we are planning our yearly trip to Disney and we were thinking about going at a different time of year ( we normally go last week of Sept.) however this year we are thinking about going either Aug or Dec.
August because the kids would not miss school ( but it's really hot then )
Dec because of the decorations for x-mas ( but the chance that my DH will have to back out last minute if we get snow in CT) or sticking with the normally every year in Sept that we love so very much.
SO confused :confused3

All I know is I need my Disney fix !!!!!!!

In August not only do you have the heat, but also the extremly large crowds. If your used to walking on to attractions during Sept (thats when I go as well), you may not like waiting in line over an hour for the same attractions in August (been there, done that, never again). Decemebr seems like a nice option, provided you go the first or 2nd week. After that you'll have the huge crowds again as x-mas gets closer.

Been last week of august and whole of September at some point. Never had crowds either but 1st 2 weeks of september major swarms of love bugs. August you may get free dining if offered. It is hot but doable IMHO as most of the attractions are indoors, and its great fun at the waterparks when it is hot. I would not hesistate to go back last 2 weeks of August - especially when the Princess and Pirate party is on. I wouldnt go in September as we too would have to take the kids out of school and they are too old now to miss school. December - Thats my plan for 2009. 1st 2 weeks in december in order to see the Christmas parades and decorations. We have been every other time of year. Good luck planning!:goodvibes

December is a wonderful time - all the Christmas decorations and cool weather and little wait time. (from beg. of month till few days before Christmas)

I've been during all 3 months. Love Dec for the holiday decorations. You could always go without DH. ;) JK. I've wouldn't go in Aug, did that once. It was way too hot. Sept you can do MNSSHP and its still warm, plus maybe free dining. If time it right, you might even get to do some of F&W too in Sept.

I would suggest Dec! August tends to be VERY hot! Dec is great, because of the wonderful Christmas lights, the bareable temp, and the atmosphere is just wonderful. However, be careful... if you go in Dec I would go during the Wonderful Week of Disney (Dec 16-23 last year) because that's when there is the least amount of ppl in the park. Usually Dec 24th-31st is one of the busiest times of the year... packed parks = no fun.

I would keep this in mind if you chose December. From what I've gathered from the boards, as I'm a first-timer at the world, the first couple of weeks in December are the best. However, Pop Warner has been announced for the 7-13. So if you typically stay at the resorts that they will or could be staying at, i.e. if there is an overflow, this might sway your decision.

Stick w/ SEPTEMBER... December is very very nice because of the christmas decorations but what fun is that w/o your DH! if there is any chance that your DH wouldnt be able to make it because of the snow then its not worth it.

I love WDW in December. The decorations are fantastic - a must see. :goodvibes :santa: We took our kids out of school last Dec. 07 and sure enough there were 2 delayed openings and one snow day. :rotfl:
