I'm planning to cancel my 14 day cruise in Aug. 2005. I know it is booked, so I thought I would offer it up to my fellow Dis'ers first. I don't know how we'll go about it, but I figured we could work something out with the travel agent that I used. I booked a Cat. 11.

Let me know as soon as possible if you're interested.

And it is nice to offer but I don't think DCL will allow such a switch.

Was it something we said?

No it wasn't anything you said ;)

I know I can't give someone my good price, but I thought if I cancelled at the same time someone scheduled it may mean the difference between someone getting on the cruise or not.

I hate to cancel, but we should have scheduled the May repo. cruise so the kids would miss the end of the school year instead of the beginning - plus my son plays football and that is a really bad time to miss. I had a price of $3800 for a 14 day cruise too. You think I should just go without the kids? :earsgirl:

It would depend on how old the kids are and who you could leave them with (and how much they would resent you for going without them).

Yea, before cancelling it, consider just you and your significant other going. The other option (which may cause more family problems) is leaving DS home to practice football and the rest of your family go on the cruise.:earseek:

Oh, yea, there's probably a waiting list so even if you cancelled and the DIS'er called for a ressie, it probably would not happen because someone's on "the list" already.

Thanks

I would do so!LOL

It would be a shame to miss out on such a Magical Journey!

Think long and hard before you cancel.......

You won't get a good price like that again!LOL

DCL isn't allowing people to call in & reserve, so even if you timed it that someone called when you cancelled, they wouldn't get it. Your room would go to the next person on the wait list (which is closed right now too).

I too would suggest considering going without the kids :)

Can't you change the name on the reservation? They told me when I booked that we could change one name with no fee. So change the main name then later change the other names for a $50 fee or something. say that you got a new job and can't go your brother or sister is going to go. then change the rest a week, or so later becouse of football or whatever, call and ask. I'd love to go but I think 14 days of my hubby and my kids without me, my kids would not forgive me. LOL call and ask it never hurts to ask.

mum2tiggers---I PMed you

mum_of_two_pirates...Sorry for the accidental PM

Thanks!

Have you seen the 2006 prices just for a 7 day cruise. If I were you I would find some way to go on the cruise.

I was very close to canceling ours till I saw the upcoming years rates. What I'm paying for our Cat. 10 is now the cost of a Cat 11 for 1 week not 2.

BTW I was told that you couldn't change everyone in the party. They would have to put the reservations back into inventory and the next person on the waiting list would have the option to your stateroom.

I was told they kept track of changes made to ressies - and at least one name needs to remain the same throughout the ressie, you cannot slowly change the names until they are all ultimately changed.

Also there's some question on the name changing thing causing a price hike too. :(
