Aug 6-26 Fast pass will not be available

Fastpasses weren't available for any of the rides at AK when we went for EMH last week...with so few rides available at AK it made for some really long waits.

Since we avoided EMH after that, I just assumed fastpasses were never available during EMH.

How awful! I can't imagine going to the parks anymore and NOT having use of the fast passes. The thought of waiting in lines horrifies me now.....thank goodness we're not going in August. LOL

Apparently, all the parks; in addition to no FastPasses at any EMH at any park, it appears the FastPass machines at Mickey's PhilharMagic, Stitch's Great Escape, and Jungle Cruise will not be available at ANY time of day during the three week period indicated in the title of this thread.

That seems like such an odd set of dates....larger crowds are expected w/free DDP...the heat added in...I guess they have their reasons, but bummer...DS was SO looking forward to MK EMH....we will still go with all the other masses, thanks for the post so I can prepare him!

I'm at Disney right now and in my past experiences at Disney FastPasses have never been honored for evening EMH, or issued either. When you think about it, they issue FPs all day long up to a certain hour until the supplies are exhausted. The cut off is official park closing; you don't want a day guest getting a FP for midnight when they are supposed to exit the park at 10pm. Last year, as well as this year Disney did not honor FPs at all during EMH. There was no one manning the FP lines.

On a related note, the FP machines at ITTBAB and HM are covered and the TT FP machine is issuing "surprise FPs" to Mission Space rather than HISTA.

Whether any given attraction will have FP during EMH totally depends on the ride managers for that EMH.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

IF the FP machines are operating during PM EMH, they "start again" at the beginning of the EMH.

this is true...when we went in June to Epcot for EMH unbeknowst to us FP were being issued for Test Track, Soarin', etc. By the time we walked over from Germany after Illum.; the standby line was over 2 hours long...grrrr & FP's were gone for the rest of the night. A huge disappointment & waste of our time.

When we went to the MK for EMH pm, we expected to be able to obtain a FP @ Space Mt. - no go! Mgr. explained they're weren't issuing any exactly because of what we experienced @ Epcot. However, when we went to the other side of the park, they issued them @ BTR for an hour , then quit for the evening.

IMO, they need to be consistent as to whether you need to position yourself to obtain a FP or not...shouldn't be a guessing game.

BTW, WDW has had many copywritten versions of FP in planning stages for a few years (several diff. versions tied into classes of resort stays, ability to select & printout FP in hotel room, etc.) Wouldn't surprise me to see changes unveiled in the new Oct. promo. Any other opinions?

My opinion is that you're 100% correct: I bet they're swapping FastPass machines out, all across the parks, to install new capabilities, and they just happen to be starting there. They have to start now to get it all done by October 1.

Well atleast its only those 3 attractions that FP wont be available until the 27th. We arrive the 25th but still have a few days to use the FP system at those rides if need be before we leave..

1. Will this effect all parks and all rides during the time specified?
2. Will it be strictly during EMH?

HISTA was with the Soarin' fastpass in July. BTW the fast passs mach. were not working during one of the days at AK in July--It was insane, we left and went to another park. I have also never seen fastpasses availabel during EMH.
