Aug 31 Food n Wine, crowd levels?

How bad do you think the crowds will be for the first day of Food and Wine on Thurs Aug 31st?
I am assuming that weekend is going to be packed bc its the first weekend and Labor day weekend but wondering if the first day (afternoon, evening, whatever) would be lower crowds? Throughts? We have never been and would like to experience one day while we are there, leaving that Sunday.

We will be there that time frame as well. I'm thinking the Labor Day weekend will bring large crowds to F&W but most likely not that Thursday.

We will be there then as well, I was surprised to see the FW is starting so early this year. I will stay away on the weekend but the first day I may head over since it should be lower crowds ( in theory of course!).
