This will be our FIRST cruise ever--- Self, DW & DTS (t=twin) ;) . The time is fast approaching and our excitement grows! Our DTS's are 6 and can't wait for their first visit to DW and the cruise. We will be staying at the WL (any comments on this) and are planning to spend some afternoons at the waterparks. Both boys are small (u/ 45 lbs and 48") Any particular one that would have slides for smaller children? Also, what about Nassau? From what I have read it's really not worth getting off the boat for. We will probably get off just to say we've done it but avoid the straw market (or what's left of it) and grab some quick souveniers. Do they have moped rentals at Nassau? Two seaters that we can take the kids with? Bad idea????

Anyway, I want to thank all of you for your postings and help in making this one of the best sites I have ever come across. Your info not only has helped me and my family plan an even better vacation, it's good to see so many people come together and share their insights and experiences with each other!

Keep up the good work!! :bounce: <Script language='Javascript'>var rndNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10000);eval("var CDTDate" + rndNum + " = '08/29/2002 12:00:00 PM EST';");document.writeln("<form name='CDTform" + rndNum + "' action='Javascript:void(0);'>");document.writeln('<font size=2 color=fuchsia>Countdown To Our First Disney Vacation/Cruise :wave:</font><br>');document.writeln("<input type=text value='' size=40 name='WrittenByJamesMVenglarikII'>");document.writeln("</form>");if (theFunction) theFunction += "var d = new Date();";else var theFunction = "var d = new Date();";theFunction += "var c = new Date('" + eval("CDTDate" + rndNum) + "');";theFunction += "var diff = (c - d)/1000;";theFunction += "var days = Math.floor(diff / 86400);";theFunction += "var rem = diff - (days * 86400);";theFunction += "var hours = Math.floor(rem / 3600);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (hours * 3600);";theFunction += "var minutes = Math.floor(rem / 60);";theFunction += "rem = rem - (minutes * 60);";theFunction += "var seconds = Math.floor(rem);";theFunction += "if ((days < 0) | (hours < 0) | (minutes < 0) | (seconds < 0)) ";theFunction += "var out = 'We\\\'ve Arrived!!';";theFunction += "else ";theFunction += "var out = ' ' + days + ' days ' + hours + ' hrs. Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have plenty of areas for the little ones, as well as family rides that can be enjoyed together. The kids might like a carriage ride in Nassau, too...I see lots of people on the mopeds, but personally I would be scared to death myself, let alone with children! They drive like maniacs there, and it is also the opposite side of the street, like in England. Personally, I am a big fan of staying on the ship...the movies and pools won't be crowded and there will be plenty to do. Just pop off for a brief look around, and then head back.
maybe we'll see you around...August 29th is the start of our three cruises in a row on the Wonder!

DH, DS5 and I did a land and sea vacation last December. Get ready for a GREAT time. :jester:

We did a glass bottomed boat excursion in Nassau. The colors were very washed out and there was not much marine life to see. . . . I would not recommend that excursion. We headed back to the ship after the trip and enjoyed the Mickey pool, which was practically empty. Very relaxing.

We didn't do a whole lot of extras on our first cruise. We spent the daytime with DS in the Mickey pool and then headed back to the cabin for a rest before dinner. The CMs were great during dinner, feeding him first. In between adult courses, DH or myself took him over to the club where he met Snow White and Minnie Mouse. We had to drag him out of there at bed time. He typically watched a Disney movie in bed (fell asleep promptly) while we enjoyed some wine on the verandah.

Gosh! Thanks for letting me re-live our trip :D :D :D :D Have Fun
