Not that I don't believe the CM I just spoke to (who didn't seem all too sure about my obscure question), but I'm just double checking that the Aug. 26 pin trading night will really be from 6-9 at a pin trading station in Epcot. And if so, where is the pin trading station?

(Aren't the free nights usually at the Contemporary? Maybe they have it at Epcot because that's the location of the HUGE pin trading event starting there the next day???) I just want to make sure I don't have to change some of my ADRs around in order to make it!

TIA!

To my knowledge Pin Trading Night on Aug. 26th is still supposed to be at the Contemporary.

We are arriving on the 26th and would love to go to a pin trading, is this open to the public?

Nope. I'm pretty sure he knew I wasn't looking for Trade City USA as he specifically said 6-9 p.m. on Thursday the 26th (whereas the Trade City starts on the 27th). Whether or not it's really at Epcot, though, remains to be seen. ;)

PP, the pin trading nights are open to the public. However, the Trade City USA is a 3-day event like a convention and is something like $100 for entry. The Sunday, though (Aug. 29) is supposedly open to the general public.

According to the Pin Celebration Itinerary the Pin Trading Night on the 26th is going to take place at the Yacht and Beach Club from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. It isn't more specific than that though.

This is the first time I'll be in orlando for one of these events...anyone know how they work? Can I bring my pins in a small rolling bag? Anything I should know/prepare before going to one of these events?

Be prepared to be overwhelmed. There will be over 1,000 people there just as obsessed as you with pins. Make a list of pins you would like to aquire and have a picture of it if possible. Otherwise, just browse everyone's selection.
If you don't like the trade (think it's unfair) then just say no and walk away. Don't get pressured into trading.
If you are talking the Thursday night in the Yacht/Beach Club I doubt there are restrictions.
If you are talking within the confines of EPCOT (Fri/Sat/Sun) there will be a special area for the pin people to go thru security. You will put down your pin bags/ ice chests/ rolling bags where they tell you and then step away. A bomb sniffing dog will then verify you aren't a terrorist and then off you go to our little corner of EPCOT. You can't miss the people scurrying with their pins to stand in line to get into the building between Canada and England in WS.

Thanks! What's going on in Epcot now...So much has changed since I last got down to the world. In January, there was no pin trading at downtown disney and you could take your two bags that you could carry to the pin place in front of the big fountain in future world. So what's going on in Epcot now? no pin trading mon-thursday but something special fri-sun? Thanks for all your help!

Trade City Pin Celebration runs from Aug. 27-29, with early arrival on Aug. 26th. It is located in Epcot in World Showcase in a special building that is not being used otherwise at this time. You have to pre-register to attend the event and above the cost of park ticket it is an additional $115 to get into the Trade City. However, on Sunday, Aug. 29, it WILL be open to the public from 2pm-5pm.

Now, you originally asked about August 26th pin trading night. Our event itinerary states that fom 7-10pm pin trading will be open to the public at the Yacht and Beach Club Resort.

If you are not registered for the event, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunity to do some good trading anyway as the celebration event closes at 6pm each day. I am sure there will be plenty of people willing to trade!

Have a great time!

Hi,I too..will be going to trade city for the first time.
Could you explain how it works?
Do you bring all your pins?
[hence the reason there are all those rolling bags]..
even if you do not want to trade all of them?
It really is confusing to the newbie..
is it the same thing at the yacht club on the 26th?

This will be my first time at a major pin trading event, but after going to some of the trading nights, I only plan to bring the pins I want to trade. I had too many offers for pins I didn't want to trade when I didn't separate them. I have spent the last couple months going through my pins books separating and reorganizing them. I plan to bring a rolling suitcase just so I won't have to carry them. I am just trying to decide if I want to bring them both days or spend one day in the front trading off the cork boards and the other day in the back or if I want to bring them both days. I don't collect vinylmation characters and we have a 9 hour drive home, so I probably won't go on Sunday.

Wow, last night was so much fun. Don't know if I ended up bumbing into any of you there, but I will definately be trying to plan around some of these events in the future!

Anyone care to post some pictures of upcoming pins or vinylmation from the event?
