Ok, this is better late than never I guess.
Our family went for 2 glorious weeks in Florida. At the time, my daughter DD, was 4, DS was 7. I was 31, DH 39.
I won't do a synopsis of every day, but I will give highlights.
Day 1/2 -- Barry Hom meet a thon. We met Barry in the afternoon at Seaworld on the 17th. After a 20 (!) hour drive, it was great to have fun, even though we got poured on!
Day 2, Met up with Barry at IOA. My kids adore him! They LOOOOVE Mr. Barry! They are still talking about hanging around with him.
Days 3-4 More of USF/IOA. The kids loved everything. It was their first time there, and they truly enjoyed it! Seaworld was great as well, saw some shows, and just enjoyed the scenery
Day 5, BGT.. well, this was a disappointment to us. Gwazi was on a 2-3 hour delay, Montu was only running one train, and Rhino Rally was only running 1/2 tour. This was our first time there, so it was a little disappointing. We left about 2 o clock.
Day 6 -- Wet n Wild, my kids and the adults loved it. This was the first time everyone else had gone. I went back in 1988, and I have to say that place has changed so much! The kids and DH had a blast. I liked it too! Went to USF afterwards
Day 7, no parks today visited family
Day 8-10, More of SW, USF, IOA. The one Sunday, we did have tickets for filming of Beat the Clock. That was really fascinating. We watched one couple do a physical challenge, and go in the wall of money. I recognized the host, Gary _____, from Saturday Night Live reruns in the 80's. It was very fun watching the behind the scenes.
We could have auditioned that following Wednesday, but... DH was too old! They stated couples or SO's ages 22-38. HE IS 39!!!!!
Oh well!
Days 11-14.. lets see we did some more USF/IOA.. Had a fantastic customer service moment at MIB on 8/28. Robert Spahn really came through for us! Other special thanks to Connie, and Vickie, two other wonderful MIB employees!
We also did Mini golf, Downtown Disney, had some great meals.
We rode and did everything, saw the newborn whale at Seaworld, I overcame my fear of dangling coasters, my kids had a blast!
Characters we saw were: Spiderman, Goblin, Dr. Doom, Wolverine, the two Marvel ladies... (Barry, you remember who they are!), Popeye (face) and costume, Bluto (costume) and Lucy, Ricky. Fred, Barney (face/costume), Crash Bandicoot, Shaggy, Scooby, Betty Boop (face), Rocky, Bullwinkle, Angelica, Chuckie (not the scary Chuckie, the Rugrats one), Eliza Thornberry, Donnie Thornberry Curious George, The Man with the Yellow Hat, Barney and Dr. Brown from BTTF. My kids loved Doc Brown! He was GREAT!
I'm so glad we got to see Kong and Hanna Barbera off. More Highlgihts. DS got picked to be the weather extra during Earthquake. He also got picked to be part of Nickelodean stage show. DD had a fun time with the talking fountain, and Dr. Suess rides.
Things we hadn't seen before: ONe fish, that was fun, Barney show, well.. lets say if you have small kids you appreciate it. Curious George Playland, AWESOMe. I loved shooting the cannons of nerf balls!
Wetnwild: That place has changed so much. The new ride the Storm I didn't care for.. I got tons of water in my nose, and lost my orientation in the "bowl"... UGH! My kids could not get enough of that place!
SW: The baby Shamu presentation show was nice, but kind of short. Shamu's happy harbor was a hit for my kids as well, but nerve wracking if you can't find them!
Most rides were walk ons. We hardly waited the entire time we were there. I think the longest we waited was 30 minutes or less. (that was single rider for MIB, and there was an equipment malfunction so they stopped loading).
Stayed at Hampton Inn Sandlake. for $39 night, including breakfast. Great deal we thought. It was a 5 minute drive to USF/IOA, and less than that to Wet n Wild. It was a 10 minute drive or so Seaworld, and about an hour to BGT.
It was a fabulous trip! Popeye was only running one time the entire time we were there, and we were prvilidged enough to ride that with Mr. Barry Hom! We loved Dudley, my DD just made the cutoff for it!
It was a wonderful glorious vacation.. We want to go back!!!!!!!
