Audio fee at SBP

I'm trying to work out a reasonable idea of what our Wishes wedding next September will cost us. I got a preliminary estimate from Joe D, my WC, and I noticed that it included an audio fee of something like $800 or $900 for SBP. I'm not sure exactly what this is for... Is that so everyone can hear the vows or something? Am I blanking on something really obvious here? Is the audio stuff optional, and if so, do we really need it? Thanks in advance!

This is the fee to set up a complete audio system and have a sound tech run it. Many people skip this at Sea Breeze Point and are able to hear the vows just fine.

If you do want recorded music played and don't want to think about it, you'll have to pay the fee. But you may be able to get a cheaper set-up if you ask for just an iPod/CD player audio system and have one of your guests run it. OR some people even bring battery-operated sound systems to Sea Breeze Point (again, you'd have to designate a guest to run it).

Thank you!! It sounds like something we could just skip... we're planning to have the violinist. I think with our smallish number of likely guests, people will probably be able to hear fine.
