Auberge

Can you get birthday cakes there? We're hoping to do a birthday trip next year and this would be the place of choice! x

Yes you can order a cake for there - the waiters all sing very loudly (in French but you could probably ask them to sing in English) and if possible a princess or Suzy or Perla will come.

Actually, I've just found the current kids menu (Didn't realise I brought it home with me until I unpacked!) Would it help anyone to see it or have you all decided to go anyway, regardless of the menu?

It might be useful added to the Auberge thread?? It's in the restaurant reviews sticky at the top of the board... :thumbsup2

I've already given a synopsis of the kid's menu in this thread but did say I'd do a full/proper review in the restaurant thread as really it would be good to keep everything together and it means it's there for others to see as this thread will eventually drop off the page :)

Just need to get time to do it :thumbsup2

My DS actually enjoys it almost as much as DD - he dresses as a knight and gets almost as much attention, especially since the princes come too now. He gets a little pressie too - a knight's helmet, and DD gets a fairy wand.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I read that as your HUSBAND dressing up as a knight :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I figured with the price the food would be good.

The food really is good - if you are talking quality of food. The problem is that it is a little rich for some children's palate.

Do you think that just Adults could eat here if you didn't have any children just for the food or would it look really out of place?

I've seen just adults eat here both times I've been, and it's fine. It is after all (quite) fine dining. You don't get much attention from the princesses though, for obvious reasons.

The first time we ate here, a lady was sitting eating all on her own. She seemed quite happy just to watch and looked to be enjoying it.

Kids choice - 1 drink of orange juice, water or milk
Starter (set) - 3 fairies delicacy - salmon mousse, carrot & chutney thing wth cucumber sticks, tom & mozzarella balls
Main - ground beef patty, salmon candy with rissotto or dainty harlequin pastry in tom puree (veggie)
Dessert - (set) white choc slipper, choc token, strawberry milkshake with candyfloss top (mini thing) and sorbet QUOTE]

All of this sounds good to me but DD cant eat diary and doesnt like fish or hamburgers -- she does LOVE chicken (and I dont just mean nuggests I mean chicken in just about any style), Duck, pasta, rice. beef -- just not burgers, pork. She does love carrots & cucumbers but what is the Chutney like -- can they leave it off or is it on the side? From the mains the only thing I see that she might be able to eat is the harlequin pastry -- but what is that? With the dessert she picks one of the 3?

No the dessert is all those things on a plate. It's a work of art.:thumbsup2

To answer PP's question, Jasmine and her prince were there when we had lunch on 09/28.
