Attractions of Fall '08!

I didnt know they let you pick or is it a lottery?

Well, they don't let you pick.

However, during your interview and later on via email/call to recruiting, you can make any requests known, and they will take note of them. Whether or not they are able to accommodate requests depends on the labor availability in each location and other varying factors. Requests aren't guaranteed, but they may help in getting you where you may want to be. Without any requests or idea of preferred locations, placement may seem pretty random.

kinda new here, but i heard that usually they have say 2 CS people and 2 CP people on a given ride , i think it has to do with the places available and what the current Area managers want in a given area, ex. young faces in fantasyland and more older faces in more historical areas like liberty square and such.

ITS A WHOLE SYSTEM....NO IT ISN'T, It's called a monorail grandpa

Hey everyone..
I got accepted for Fall '08 Attractions!! I'm soooo excited! I have some questions. I know you can request a certain attraction even though it's not guaranteed, I figure it couldn't hurt to request one anyway. So I'm trying to figure out which one to request...

I've always been a huge fan of rollercoasters so I was kinda thinkin about requestin one of those.. Does anyone have pictures of the costumes for the roller coasters (such as Expedition Everest, Rockin Rollercoaster, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, etc.)???

Also, is it easy to pick up extra shifts in Attractions? Or can you only work shifts at the specific ride you are trained at? Can Attractions people pick up PAC shifts?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Sort of, though it has a lot more to do with location labor availability than it does other factors. You still see a good number of program participants (more than four) at attractions like The Haunted Mansion for instance...

Also note that the 2 CP to 2 CS ratio you have doesn't really exist. The CareerStart Program is considerably smaller than the College Program (probably by a factor of eight CPs to one CS), and in either case, both programs share the same pool of available roles- when it comes to location assignment, I find it hard to believe they try to even out CP vs CS.

I don't have any I can share, but check out Google Images... just plug in "Cast Member" after the attraction's name.

For Expedition Everest, their Cast Members wear multi-colored pin stripe/patterned button-down shirt that has a patch with attraction insignia and black shorts/pants that have colored stripe swatches. Rock'n Rollercoaster Cast Members wear a "parking attendant" costume, with black pants, a button-down with various notes and a red vest that has a patch with attraction insignia. RnRC also has black coats available. For Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, their Cast Members wear a light red-dirt colored western-style collared shirt and brown pants.

Most attractions shifts require that you have current training for that particular attraction, although it does vary. PAC shifts can be picked up by attractions Cast Members.

Again Chris, you rock! :)

Hey! I'm pretty new here, but I received my letter this week and looks like I'm going to be Fall '08 Attractions! I can't wait. When does everyone else check ? (August 13 here).

So I did the College program in the Spring 07 and I did attractions. I worked Spaceship Earth in Epcot and honestly it was the best experience of my life. I know that everyone would love to work at a cool ride like Soarin, Tower of Terror, or Haunted Mansion but you got to remember that those attractions are generally more demanding and difficult to work. You have to deal with high guest interaction, many complaints, high requirments and all that stuff.
Personally i loved the layback feeling of Spaceship. We were really only busy in the morning and you had more time to interact with guests since you didnt have to contantly be watching the line or whatever. Also there was a ton of downtime so I really got to know my fellow coworkers. There was ten CP working at Spaceship when I was there and we are all still friends over a year later. Personally I cant wait to go back. Im applying for the spring 09 program.

I'll be happy wherever they place me. I'd just rather not be placed at Magic Kingdom because I really don't want to have to be at work till extremely late at night some nights. My friend that does merch there doesn't get off till 2AM. I enjoy my nights so I'd rather work during the day.
