I'm thinking about a day at Universal on our next Disney trip. My grandchildren will be (just turned) 7 and 10. Too old for the "boring" Dumbo and carousel rides, but not old enough for thrill rides. Universal seems overwhelming to me; so many choices. What would you suggest for a one-day trip? They ride Big Thunder Mountain/Splash Mountain/Star Tours/Kali River Rapids at Disney, but (so far) won't go on R&R Coaster or Tower of Terror. They are Spongebob addicts, and I think I read somewhere that there's something Spongebob at Universal. Any advice would be appreciated.

At Universal, there is SHREK 4-D which is very popular with everyone. Spongebob is in the Jimmy Neutron attraction. They can meet him afterwards right by the exit and take pics, autographs, etc. There's also Men in Black, Jaws, Earthquake and Back to the Future. They will have alot to do. Also at Islands of Adventure, there is Spiderman, Jurassic Park and lots of other fun stuff. They are at the perfect age and will love it!

My 11 year old enjoyed Suess landing, including the rides. My 14 year even liked Cat In The Hat.
Don't forget to ride ET, this is my favorite, and my 2 year olds favorite too!
There is also a smaller kiddie rollar coaster, it just goes around once. My 11 and 5 year old went on it, but my 2 year old was too short much to her dissapointment. Boy did she cry when we walked away from it with her. She is a little ride maniac!
