Hi! I am new to this board. After much persuading, I have convinced DH to go to Disney in February
We have only one child who will be almost 2 at the time. I have been to Disney with my sister's kids who were older, but never with a child this age. Could someone give me some ideas of which attractions we will be able to enjoy at this age? We are going to get 7 day Park Hopper tix so we can go to all of the parks.

Your little one will love "Pooh's Playful Spot" in MK, "Boneyard" at AK, and " Honey, I Shrunk the kids movie set" at MGM. These are all fun playgrounds, but only Pooh's has a water section. We went last Thanksgiving with DD4 and DS 1 and they loved these areas.

Our 2 year old grandson loved It's a Small World. Being a big fan of Buzz Lightyear, he enjoyed that ride also. He liked Playhouse Disney alot but didn't quite get into Beauty and the Beast. He also like the Winnie the Pooh ride as well as Peter Pan's Flight. It's a Bug's Life was scary for him. He really didn't like any of the 3D shows. His 4yr old brother enjoyed all of that!

Subscribing.

We are going a week after Joseph turns 2.

Hi,

We to our DS at 7 mos and 11 mos. We did almost all of the rides for the little ones. Except Snow White which I think is kind of dark and scary for them. We even Living with the Land and Mexico Boat Ride in Epcot.

Can anyone tell me about "Pooh's Playful Spot"? We will be arriving at Disney at the end of the week. We have two girls with us (2yrs. and 4yrs.). We have been to Disney before but I am not familiar with "Pooh's Playful Spot". I assume it is in Fantasyland in the MK. What is the water section like? Do you need bathing suits? Thanks.

We went with my DS3 (celebrated his 3rd bday there). He liked It's a small world, Dumbo, donald's boat, going through Mickey and Minnies houses, Barnstormers, riding the train, all of the parades, festival of the lion king, kilamanjaro safari, journey w/ figment, the living seas, playhouse disney, lights motors action, and fantasmic. I think he liked, the pooh ride, peter pan, the jungle cruise, TTA and Kali river rapids, but he said he was scared on all of them, but didn't cry or anything I think maybe he was using it as an attention getter. We found out that kids will surprise you...the things that we thought might scare him(fantasmic), he liked and the things we thought he would like( the pooh ride) scared him. So I guess you never know until you try.

We went last year and if I remember correctly, Pooh's playful spot is very, very cute. I spent some time there with my son who was 15 mos. at the time while the older one went on a ride. It's geared for toddlers and early preschoolers. It has slides, climbing structures and other things to crawl through. Yes, your child may get wet, but he/she really doesn't need a bathing suit. Most toddlers like running in and out of the water. You will probably have a change of clothes which you can switch into if he/she gets very wet. My child was only a little wet, plus it was hot so we let him air dry to keep him cool.

I also want to mention there's toon disney town and a little play area by Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain which little ones cannot go on. It helped pass the time. There's Tom Sawyer Island which they can explore. THe other theme parks have playgrounds which are perfect for children of varying ages. There are plenty of rides for the little ones to go on and some rides allow you to put your child on your lap. Hope this helps.

Just back from WDW this past week with our 2 year old. He loved all the above mentioned rides, plus he liked Goofy's Barnstormer alot. We rode it three times.

Also the train around MK and the Transportation Authority in Tomorrow Land.

Surprisingly Snow White made him somewhat clingy.

It is a great time to take a child. He loved Ariel in MGM.

Believe it or not, my DS 2.5 favorite thing was any of the 3-D attractions. We thought he'd probably freak out but he LOVED them. The first one we did was "It's Tough To Be a Bug" over at AK. Of all the 3-D I think this would be the most scary. He wasn't sure at first what to make of the glasses and kept trying to take them off. Then when it started and he figured out what they were for he left them on. He loved it! So we took him to all the rest...Philharmagic, Muppets, Honey... he LOVED them all. Amazing. I've heard many people say their kids are terrified of the 3-D stuff. Each child is different.

But his absolute favorite thing? Riding the buses! Yeah, go figure! :rotfl:

This thread is great! Lots of good ideas and suggestions. Does anyone have recommendations for a 2 yr. old in Animal Kingdom besides the "Boneyard"? Thanks for your help.

Here's what my DS2.5 liked during our last trip (he was 2 & 3 months):

AK:
Kilimanjaro Safari (he fell asleep and we were in the back :confused3 )
Boneyard
Dino-spin (like Dumbo)---again and again and again!
Train to Rafiki's area
Lion King show
We took all the trails and he liked looking at the animals and roaming around

MK:
It's a small world
Philharmagic
Dumbo
Pooh
Teacups
Autopia (he loves the cars!!)
TTA
Buzz
Carousel of Progress (O.K. I like that one, it's has AC and we get to sit down)
Hall of Presidents (O.K., same reasons as above and it is a great place for them to take a nap)
Haunted House (he doesn't get all the ghosts)
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Aladdin's ride
Tiki Room
Bear Country Jamboree (Now, he liked this, I could pass!)
Crystal Palace for a meal -- he loved Pooh, Piglet, Eyeore, & Tigger

Epcot:
The living seas -- Crush & the fish tanks
Living with the Land boat ride
The hands on stuff at the Imagination pavillion
The water fountains
The boat ride at the Mexican pavillion
The Biergarten for a meal --- loved dancing to the oompa band especially the chicken dance

MGM:
Playhouse Disney. We usually only go there for TOT an RNRC. So, not sure about the other attractions.

Hope this was helpful and not too redundant to the other posts!

Enjoy your time! You'll get some great pictures & video!

P.S. My little guy likes the fireworks too.
