Attractions for 15mo old

My husband and I are taking our 15 month-old son to Disney World in late September. What rides and attractions are appropriate for a 15-month old? We really think he'll enjoy "It's a Small World" and the Playhouse Disney attraction, but we're not sure about some of the others. It's hard to guess what will be "fun" and what will be "scary" to a yound child. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Just returned with 2 1/2 yo dd and I would say DON'T go on the Snow White ride. My dd was very frightened. She was also scared on Pirates but after the 2nd time didn't mind it(didn't like or dislike it) Try the dumbo ride, winnie the pooh ride, the carousel, toon town.

It really depends on the nature of the child. My DD(now 3yrs.) has been going since she was an infant. She loves all the rides and at 18month(closest to your child's age), she love them as well. Sometimes I could tell she was reassuring herself, I would just make comments. Like "look what they can do with the makeup", lights, whatever. My DD's, personality is just made that way, just not a whole lot of fear.

It really depends on your child and what you think they might be able to handle. In June, my 10 month(DS) did get on all the rides. (We got a day at MK & MGM, while DH was on business.) We're headed back in 10days, so will give it another try.

You can try anything he's tall enough for. Kids surprise you; our son even liked Snow White. Winnie the Pooh and Small World were big, big hits! and ANYTHING with a boat.

I would not take a young child on Snow White or on the Pirates. The Pirates has a small waterfall. Just enough to get your stomach and suprise you. Snow White is scary to most young children. You could go on it first to check it out. Also, at Epot we were extremely upset with the cast members for not telling us (before we got on ) that Journey to Imagination is not for children. Our DD was 5 months at the time. When we got off, we complained and they said everyone with little children complains. Durning the ride you enter blackness and then a light starts to come your way (like a head on train). The sound of the train and it's horn blowing hurts your ears!!! I can not imagine what it does to a baby or toddlers ears. We have heard that Disney is listening and they are going to change it.

Our youngest (now 3) has been going to Disney since he was about ten months old so he really doesn't fear any of the rides. He got a little nervous last time about the Haunted House and kept looking at me and saying "Just Pretend right Momma?" I reassured him several times and he was fine on the ride. I taught him to yelp back at those screechy thing and he thought that was GREAT fun LOL. He wasn't loud so it didn't affect anyone else on the ride.

For a 15 month old who has never been to Disney I would suggest, Pooh, the carousel, Dumbo, Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Carousel of Progress, Aladin. But you really never know what they will and wont like. You might try buying a small Disney penlight while at the park or resort ($5) and giving that to him to use if he gets scared in the dark. We bought two for our sons and they love them. Neither is particularly afraid of the dark (7 and 3) but just in case they get nervous.
