Attraction Closures?

I'm trying to plan a trip for this fall for my daughter's birthday, but am not sure when we should go. Her birthday is October 25th, but I'm not sure we want to go so close to Halloween due to the MNSSHP crowds and cooler weather. Since Disneyland doesn't have anticipated attraction closures listed that far out, though, I'm afraid to plan much earlier for fear some of her favorite rides won't be available (Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Space Mountain etc). Does anyone know the regularly scheduled down times for attractions before Halloween? I know they shut down a few of them to do the Halloween and Christmas overlays, I just don't know when. Is it worth it to just go during the Halloween season? Are the crowds really heavy at that time?

On the 25th I would only expect Small World to be down so it can have it Christmas overlay put up.

Space and HM go down in early September and are open for the whole Halloween Season.

That is a really good week for crowds in October.

Thanks, I'll go ahead and start planning for that week, then. Although I'm not sure now if we're going. She's being wishy washy about where she wants to go. First she wanted to go to NYC, but the friend that she has there won't be able to meet up with us, so she changed her mind to DLR, now she's not sure. Thankfully we have some time and it's not like WDW where you practically have to have everything planned out a year in advance.
