I know they have those turquise and green linens now, and that you can have the green changed to white. But can you have the turquoise changed as well? If not, does anyone know what they charge for linens? Per table? Also I remember seeing that someone had posted a floorplan of the living seas. The search engine isn't working but if someone could direct me I would love you forever:love:  :flower3:

You can get the blue linens changed, but they charge a fee. I'm not sure exactly how much. The tables at LSS are small - 6 per table. So if you have a lot of guests, you'll need more tables and that just makes everything else add up. Linens, centerpieces, etc. Although I think you can request a couple of tables for 8. HTH!

Does anyone remember seeing the PJ with the Living Seas info? I can't seem to find it

I know Caryn had her reception at the Living Seas, and I think she had a lot of detail on floor plans and linens in her PJ. Hope that helps!

yes, i had my reception at living seas. i don't know how much the table linen change costs as i only changed out the green for white. kristen14 had the table plan laid out in her pj, i would upload it but my internet connection is super slow this morning.

i do know that it costs a lot of money to move the tables in LSS. so if you wanted to move the 2 rectangle tables to make a table for 10, then it costs $$$$. the room is set up pretty well though, so i didn't see any need to change it.

I don't want to change the layout, I just want to see how many tables and their placcement as to get an idea about seating. Those turquoise linens, are they really noticable if they are not part of your color scheme? I'm trying to budget in advance to see whether I should count on having Disney do my floral or not, so i can find an alternative.

If you have an event in any of the theme parks, only disney can do the floral. They do not allow an outside florist.

Im talking about doing my own centerpieces and having Disney set them up.

Oh ok, I believe they will put out 3 different things on your table free, after that I beleive there is a charge. So that would save you some money if you can bring your own centerpieces. What do you have in mind for centerpieces?

I do not know yet for the centerpieces. But I did find the layout, since the search engine is finally back up. I'll post the link in a moment.

i wouldn't do centerpieces. but that's jmho. it was the one thing i regretted spending money on when i walked into my reception. the lss has enough background, you don't need to add to it. i would put some votives on the tables and leave it at that.

here is the best pic i have of the blue. i don't think they looked odd at all because of the other coloring in the room.

Hey all! I wanted to let you know that I'm looking into having our DFTW at the LSS too and, in a brief conversation with our consultant, she mentioned that they'll be changing the linens in the LSS to navy. I need to email her again because she didn't get into specifics -- i.e. changing all of it to navy or just the blue or just the green. I have to email her a ton of questions so I'll ask and let you know.

Wanted to give you a head's up, though! I'm also not sure when in 2009 they're doing this... (I LOVE the blue they have now with the green so I was a little disappointed).

Ack!! Thanks for posting this! I was planning on those being what they are now... I'll definitely have to bring that up at my PS!

I know! That was a main reason why I thought the LSS was so great! We were planning on using that blue in our wedding and we'd thought it was perfect since they were already on the table. I mentioned this and she said, "oh by the way..." I thought to myself, "WHAT?!" :scared1:
Here's hoping everything works out...for both of us. :cool2:

Sarah,

FYI, we're having our reception in the Living Seas in October. I was told that we can not do our own centerpieces. Disney Floral needs to do anything since we are in a park. The only thing they will set up are, place cards, favors, etc. Not centerpieces.:confused3

the linens used to be a darker blue. thats what i had in july 2006 and they were beautiful so don't stress over the linen colors. usually disney will be flexible so once you sign the contract the linens that you agreed on should be there.

Not all centerpieces are flowers as you probably know, and I think floral centerpieces are a waste of flowers and money. But you pay Disney Floral hourly and give it to thm in advance and they will set it up. Floral is a limit, can only be Disney. Mostly, because they do not want to be held liable for dead or damaged flowers and no one is allowed in the parks to set up. But most items are allowed to set up. If you read some PJ and TR, you'll see that mostly everybody brings their own. I would be amazed if they change that rule as it has been commonly known since I started looking in to it in 2005.

We just had our reception at LSS and we were able to bring in part of our centerpiece. Since we were using something that Disney doesn't offer (snowglobes) we could bring those in on our own. We had floral add flower petals, glass blocks to sit them on along with ivy.
