Sent you a PM, but it bounced back to me.

I was curious, are you a professional photographer? Your pictures on your signature are GORGEOUS! :)

Just wondering :)

Stepharoonie,
What a nice thing to say (and to read)!!! No, I am not a pro and those shots are just lucky. Thank you for the compliment, you have made my day!!!! :)

Bumped to say: those ARE great shots everyone should take note of!

You are very welcome Gail! I'm impressed (and a little jealous) of your shots since all of mine usually come out "jumpy" or blurred. They do honestly look like professional shots, much like the ones you would find in a brochure or magazine :)

Gail's pictures sure are good. I like them too.

Why did I read this, I am not Gail, LOL? :)

And, it is all your fault that I have the camera I have. :) Furthermore, you take great shots yourself. :)

You are making me blush. :) Thank you very much, I just like taking pictures.

Oh, I don't believe that!!!! I bet you take great shots.

Gail, if you're still reading this...I need the name of or link to the site you recommended to order memory and other accessories through. I saw it a while back on another thread and thought I had saved it, but now that I need it...

Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?

Earlier tonight, before I read this post, DH walked in the room when one of your posts was up.

He was totally impressed. (and I am too!)

Great shots!

Thank You!

Now if only I could take you along to take the pictures for me...LOL :teeth:

Gail,

Any camera recommendations? I'm looking into a digital camera. I've only used my parents digital camera. It took O.K. pictures. Just not at night.

Yes, I sure do. The pictures were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 950 (except for the closeup of the Orca, I used the Nikon Coolpix 5000 for that one). The 950 has 2.11 mp and I have enlarged the on in the upper right to 10x14 without any problem, (we used various sizes for this picture to show people what they could do with a digital camera).
The picture of Spaceship Earth was a PITA, took me 26 trys. I had the time to play with the settings, so, I kept on trying.

I love the 950 and bought it as a refurb with an extended warranty. I also purchased extra lenses (they are nice, they just screw on), they are not expensive. Actually, I like most of the cameras in the Coolpix line.

I also like that new Olympus Stylus Digital. I also really liked the 35mm version of this camera. It is small, light and easy to use.
It comes in 3.2 mp and 4 mp. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_digital.asp

I don't see that you can add lenses, however.

I also like the Fuji line 2.mp and up.

Thanks Gail! I was looking at a Nikon, not sure which model, but it was one that could change lenses. I just wasn't sure about the picture quality. Your pictures are fabulous. I guess the Nikon will be a great choice.

Thank for the info.
