Attitudes at One Mighty Weekend events?

Hey guys, I'm planning to attend one of the One Mighty Weekend parties with a friend and I was wondering what the attitudes were towards people who don't have ideal bodies at these events. Looking at the pictures on the website, I can count the number of people without ripped bodies on one hand.

I'm in decent shape, but my friend is a little overweight. One time we went to a gay dance club and someone at the door tried not to let him in. I'm pretty certain if he was thinner the guy at the door wouldn't have given us any trouble. I'd been to the club many times with no problems. I'd like to avoid this kind of rudeness. I'd also like to avoid dealing with dirty looks from partygoers, although the organizers can't really control that.

How likely will we have to deal with rude staff at the event? Any personal accounts would be much appreciated.

Not too familiar with the after hours parties, but I do know they have a Tidal Wave Party at Wet and Wild for the bear guys....you may want to look into that.

I've only been to one of the "official" parties. That was the "Beach Ball" at Typhoon Lagoon in 2003. At that party, there wasn't much attitude that I noticed. That said, we were too busy riding the slides and playing in the wave pool to be bothered with the DJ and the dance floor. So there may have been hundreds of people looking down on us. We were having too much fun to care.:thumbsup2

My advice for going to ANY of the Gay Days festivities is GO! Don't worry about what other people think, just do what you want to do and have fun. Life is too short to worry about other people's attitude issues. And at Gay Days there is typically a large enough cross section of people that it's not an issue.

Just my 2 cents.

Live your life for others and you're
sure to disappoint someone.

You're definitely right about having a good time and not worrying about what other people think. I'll do that instead of worrying so much. :)

Trust me. Some of those little boy toys are annoying as all hell. :upsidedow Don't let anyone interfere with your sense of self, your ability to be who and what you are, and most of all, your chance to have a wicked fun time! :teeth:
