I went to a family party on Saturday. My sil and my dh's cousin both noticed I had lost weight and asked me how. I had to tell them the terrible truth... I have started exercising. I get on my elliptical trainer EVERY morning- even 2 days that I wasn't feeling well... I did 10 minutes one day and 15 the next, not the usual hour I do-but something. I don't love it- not at all but I know that it's good for my heart, my bones, my muscles, my weight and MY BRAIN. When I get off that machine, I feel like I have accomplished something. Every day I give myself permission to stop at 30 minutes- but have always gone further (except for the 2 days I was sick).

It's been just over 4 weeks and I'm still at it. Seriously, I'm not a fitness kind of person... but this is working and I'm feeling better about myself. Exercise, it helps your attitude. Try it!:thumbsup2

That is terrific, keep at it. Also keep your positive attitude:yay:
I actually joined a gym and found that I really like to exercise but unfortunatley I have fallen off the wagon.

I'm going to post something here that a friend at the Y said to me. I had just started the Couch to 5k running plan and I was talking to her about it. She's a marathoner, works out like a demon, has like zero body fat-and she was SO encouraging to me. She said: "Remember, you're not competing against the clock or any of us, you're competing against that old you that wants to stay sitting on that couch and every step you take is another step away from that person." I keep that in mind every time I think I don't want to go to the gym and work out. It's really helping me stay on track!

That is absolutely PERFECT. I'm going to write that down and stick it in my gym bag right now! And....in my food journal. Can never have too many positive reminders! :thumbsup2
