Hello :goodvibes,
Can someone please tell me if my husband would be ok to wear a pair of dark plain knee length shorts,a collared buttoned shirt and smart, clean trainers(not tatty looking or dirty).Or would this not be acceptable?.We don't pack shoes or trousers for him on holiday, but would love to eat here.Thank you :thumbsup2.x.

Hi,

That would be absolutely fine--and depending on the day, he may be the most dressed-up person in the restaurant!

Yes, that's perfectly fine.

Thank you both:thumbsup2.
Was a little worried they wouldn't allow him in with either or both shorts/trainers.I thought being a signature and not in a park they would be strict on attire.
Would you say Yachtsman over Le Cellier?.We did choose Le Cellier but people tend to be going with the Yachtsman more?.x.

The Disney definition of "business casual" is quite a bit different from the rest of the world's definition!

Sorry I can't give you an opinion on the food, those are two of the restaurants we have never eaten in (none of us are big steak eaters). But if I were you I'd look at both menus and pick the one that appeals to you most...I don't think you can go wrong either way, they are both very popular!

Ah ok.I had images of men in trousers and shoes and ladies in dresses and shoes. So I wouldn't be required to wear a dress?,can I get away with wearing 3/4 length trousers/capri trousers and sandals then?.(sorry for all the attire questions). As we will be going into Epcot for the evening afterwards, and I would feel rather uncomfortable walking around in dress and shoes .

3 of us was hoping to have the mushroom fillet that everyone raves about at Le Cellier, but they have taken their mashed potatoes off of the menu, which is what 2 of us would have been substituting the risotto for.Which is one of the reasons why we are now looking at the Yachtsman. We are massive steak fans.x.

I think what you've described is perfect. In fact I've seen plenty of folks ignore the dress code (baseball caps, tank tops) and I've never seen anyone refused service. I think Disney's dress code is just "suggested". (Monsieur Paul and V&A's being the sole exceptions). My boyfriend and I are steak lovers too and we enjoy Yachtsman Steakhouse, but our favorite is Shula's. Please keep in mind for a future visit!:)

The official WDW take on Signiture Dining:

Dress Code

At this Signature Dining experience, Guests are asked to adhere to the dress code.

Men may wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.

Women may wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans or dress shorts.

Not permitted are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

You both will be fine in your planned outfits. I have seen Mickey Mouse T-shirts with flip flops as well as suits and cocktail dresses at signature restaurants.

Note the word "asked"--not required.

Which is why the short list of "not permitted" items.

What you propose to wear will be just fine--Mrs U NEVER wears a dress to any WDW restaurant.

And Yachtsman has it all over Le Cellier-

Thank you :thumbsup2.I did take a look at Shula's menu and it does sound very nice but it doesn't accept the ddp,but will bear it in mind for another trip when we don't have the ddp.x.

I really don't like dresses on me,the last time I wore a dress was for my wedding 13 years ago .x.

I am really leaning towards the Yachtman now, also what is Narcoossee's like?,the menu looks fab.Would that also be the same attire that we plan on wearing for Yachtsman?.x.

the Yachtsman will refuse service. It happened to my brother. He wasn't aware of the dress code. He went with a tank. They wouldn't let him in. But your attire is fine.

I tend to dress up but that's because I enjoy doing it and rarely get a chance. But then again i also tend to wear dresses and skirts to the parks, because I think it's more comfortable.

SIL wore a tshirt (like the kind you get free at college) and jeans to yachtsman and while I would have felt out of place, she had no problem with it.

Your attire as described would be fine for Narcoossee's too!

Yep--"code" is exactly the same for all the Signatures.

And to note that tank -tops are only prohibited on men (those undershirt type things).

Women are fine in tank top style blouses, tops, etc.

Your husbands attire sounds just fine- the dress code is not too strict if you're trying! Last year during MNSSHP I ate at Narcosees in a full dog costume complete with cone of shame- they didn't blink.

Yes I know what you mean,i do like to dress up but a skirt and top/blouse is better for me.x.

Ok,tank top to me is what a girl would wear, short cropped top that sits just below the bust but above the belly button?.I am pretty sure my husband would freak out if I tried to get him to wear one of them :rotfl2:.x.

Oh my I would love to have seen you :thumbsup2.

Was Narcoossees nice?,the menu on the dis boards reads the poached lobster and fillet for $71,but the menu on WDTC where you make your reservations, has the fillet for $44,but you can add a poached lobster tail to take it to $71,so we will be on the DDP,can we add the lobster tail or is it a case of we can only have the fillet and would have to pay OOP for the add on of the lobster tail?.Hope that makes sense .x.
