Just called my guide to check on the status of our BWV add on (on the wait list for June UY). While I had him on the phone asked if he could check if any points were available at BCV - I was shocked when he said that both February and March UY's each had 200 points available.
He said they had just come into the system.

Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone waiting to add on at BCV with these UY's. Good luck!

Debbie

Debbie,

Welcome to the DIS :)

Good luck on your waitlist. I suspect the BCV points will go quickly.

Thanks for posting that info!!

still waiting!!!

I think the interest only mortgages are catching up with people - those luxery items are being sold off. We just purchased a new BCV contract (200 points) directly form DVC which is pretty rare. My member services rep who helped me through the paperwork told me that "I found gold" ...

I would not be surprised to see DVC have points at sold out resorts more then in past years. I've noticed the Timeshare store has quite a list of resales too. 8 Saratoga Springs resales which tells me quite a few people got caught up in an impulse buy.
30 OKW resales....Wow. A real shift in the market.

I was able to pick up 200 BCV points directly 1. Because I did not specify a use year and 2. I was pretty lucky! -Steve

brownsoup, you and I are 2 in the last 2 months. I got a new BCV 160 pointer in Feb after only a week on waitlist. Things are picking up it would appear. Here's some extra pixie dust for ya Beca!

Slightly confused:

Do most do add-ons direct thru Disney? Is the reasoning getting exactly the # of points you want or a smaller contract than usually listed via resale or ?

We'd be looking at an add-on of 200 points which I think we'd be able to find easily (if we're patient) via TSS for either BWV or BCV.

Wouldn't we save some $$ by going thru TSS than Disney?

Thanks for allowing this bunny trail on this thread

I started out at TSS...great place - great people. But the laws of supply and demand have forced BCV price to (as high as) $94 a point. For kicks - I contacted DVC who are selling resale points (as available) for $92 a point (thanks VASCUBAGUY!!) - no closing cost, almost instant usability of points - a win/win situation. If I was adding on to OKW - I would jump on the TSS who currently has 30 resale listings for OKW. It will be interesting to see how DVC responds to higher demands for resale and ?lower? demand for SSR. -Steve

Beca...Why is the use year so important? Do you want it to match up with what you already have?

byoung...Thanks!!!

LakeAriel...yes, I do want the same UY I already have, for two reasons:

1) I don't want to have to add-on 150 points (something which I think should be waived for BCV people since DVC can never get points for them), and

2) I have had two UY's in the past, and I did not like it...it was a big hassle, IMO. I would rather wait for my UY...although the wait is really annoying!!!

I don't think you have to add on 150 points through DVC... that's just for non-members who are buying in. I think the minimum add-on is 25 points (or 50 if you want to finance).

True, but only if they have the points. At BCV, the points come and go pretty quickly... and if you were DVC, wouldn't you rather sell 200 points to 1 person than to split it up and sell 50 points each to 4 people? Much less paperwork and overhead.

Really? I've been on wait list since February for 30 BWV points March UY and haven't heard anything. I've spoken with my guide several times since and ask him every time and it's still not available. I'm calling him tomorrow again (inquiring about the new incentive going on) so I'll ask him again. Hoping I get them soon. :Pinkbounc
