Due to the snow forecasted for tomorrow we have decided that school will be canceled:) :)

This was just announced over the loud speaker. We have children from over 40 different communities some with very long commutes. I guess that they decided that it would just be easier and safer to cancel than have the kids being transported at noon tomorrow. We were going to have a half day. YAYYYYY!!!!

I still hate snow though!!!!!!!!! :(

I hate snow but how great you get a half day off before Thanksgiving :)

it just began to snow here...they're only forecasting about 2-4 inches at most...my area isn't expecting more than 2 inches...

They cancelled school because of forecasted snow????

Ummmmm, haven't weather forecasts ever been wrong???

Our little guy is looking forward to a Thanksgiving celebration with his kindergarten tomorrow; he's going to be dressed as a Native-American:D . We live west of Boston, but there has been NO cancellation yet:D :D :D .....

yesterday and today are teachers in service days ....tomorrow is a regular vacation day added with turkey day and friday.......this has been a very trying week......alot of drop and runs and a few of my regular kids......oh what....its only Tuesday....... tomorrow is my last day of the week anyways.....thank goodness...hahaha.....

I love snow but not at Thanksgiving. My boys are traveling home and are not experienced in driving in snow. Also, our biggest tradition is the football game. The forecast for the S. Jersey shore is little to no snow. We'll probably get the depressing cold rain/slush.

If they cancelled school every time thier was a forcast for snow my kids would never be in schools. Sounds like someone wants the whole day off tomorrow.

Enjoy your unexpected day off:D :D

Oh No!
Eros, we have the same thing planned for our Cameron. Im even planning to go in help out with their feast. I so hope it doesnt get cancelled here. Im really looking forward to seeing him in action. :)

Yes, our weather predictions are often wrong but closing the 1/2 day of school tomorrow makes sense in this case. We have over 100 children from over 40 different communities. Each community sends it own transportation (usually a private company).
The peak of the snow is supposed to be around 12:00, our dismissal time. Our past experience has shown that the transportation companies are usually very late in snowy weather. They also cannot start out earlier because they usually have other runs to do before us. Our children have a very difficult time waiting and many end up tantruming if they have to wait to long. I guess the powers that be thought it was an easier and safer way to deal with this particular instance.

Sounds like the right choice to me Jana. So what time will you be over to start help me making my 4 pies? ;)

EROS and CamColt, sounds like your sons are gonna be cuties all dressed up tomorrow! :)

Thanks, JC2.:)

Camcolt, there are TWO Camerons in our kindergarten class, so they're referred to as Cameron X and Cameron Z:D . Of course, tomorrow our little guy will be the Indian while Cameron Z will be a Pilgrim:jester: :jester: . Since Mr. and Mrs. EROS are not tooooooooo puritanical, we're comfortable with the "wild heathen" choice;) ;) ;) ;) .......

That's because it's an awesome name! :teeth: :teeth:

DD will be a Pilgrim and mistress of ceremonies at her Thanksgiving pageant tomorrow. I'm so excited...can't wait to see the entire class do the Turkey Wobble :)
