Apparently, Disney is not clearing MK for the party. I copied this from another thread. I'm posting it here for all to see.

They aren't closing the park until 7, when the party starts. They used to close at six to get non ticket holders out. Now they aren't going to do that. They won't be able to ride the attractions but it's not about the rides. Now we have to fight for a space to see the parades and fireworks with people who didn't pay for tickets to the party. I have no idea how they are going to handle trick or treating. Looks as though they are doing the same for MVMCP too.

They were talking about it on the WDW Today podcast this week. They couldn't believe they were going to do that and thought it was just a typo on the web site. So they called a source and were told it wasn't a typo. They aren't clearing the park. They'll make an announcement and ask people to leave. That's it. But why would anyone leave when they can see the parades and fireworks and characters for free?

Please email guest relations and tell them how upset you are!!!
Here is a link to the thread from which I quoted.

Here are the email addresses guest.mail@disneyonline.com and/or wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

Hopefully they'll get enough of a negative response and rethink the decision.

I also wanted to add the snail mail address too.

I really hope they receive so much negative feedback on this that they'll rethink their plans and deal with park closing as in years past.

Maybe Disney will be giving wristbands to people with MNSSH tickets at the entrance?

Sorry, I know nothing about Disney, I have not been there since 2001.

I do hope they receive a lot of negative feedback so that this doesn't happen. It is not like EMH when the only thing open is rides/attractions that you have to have a wristband to get on. At the party there is trick-or-treating, parades, special fireworks, special collector pins, etc.. Disney can’t prevent non-paying guests from enjoying those perks of the party unless they cleared out the park before the party began. It would be so unfair to pay for the party only to have the park packed with non-paying guests enjoying the same perks that you spent extra money for.
My gut instinct when I first read this post was to e-mail Disney requesting my money back for the party as I could now attend for free - why pay?
However, if they don’t change their plans and clear out the park beforehand, I hope that I am able to ignore the fact that I’m being crowded by non-paying day guests and not feel resentful for that. I want to be able to enjoy the party - this will be my first one.

Here's the email I just sent to both email addresses above:

To Whom It May Concern:

I have purchased tickets for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party being held on September 22. I had purchased these tickets with the assurance of Disney Cast Members and information from the Disney World website that this is a hard ticket event and that the only way any person would be able to gain entrance to, or remain in, the Magic Kingdom during this event would be for them to purchase a ticket. Now, however, I have been made aware that the Magic Kingdom is not going to be cleared of day guests before the start of the party, but that only an announcement will be made asking day guests to leave—many of whom will likely opt to stay without further enforcement. I have great concern about how this will affect the party. Part of my reasoning in buying the tickets for my family was the limit on the number of tickets sold. I understand that there would still be a substantial number of people present, but not as crowded as a normal day there. I understand that the day guests will not be able to gain entrance to attractions if they stay after the party begins, but now I’m worried about crowds at the parade and while watching fireworks—not to mention lines to meet the unusual characters that may be out (my daughter is so excited about meeting more characters!). My family and I are still looking forward to the party, but would like to know if or how Disney plans to diminish the impact of day guests on the experience of guests who purchased tickets to the event?

Thank you,
Alicia Duncan and family

Now, I'll just see what they send back. Honestly, this is advertised as a hard ticket event, accessible only if you have paid admission. If they don't intend to make a realistic effort in clearing the park I will ask for my money back..

I sent off an email. hopefully they di something but from the sound of it I won't hold my breath

Well for all it's worth I just got off the phone with a nice lady at WDW hard ticket reservations and she specifically mentioned that they will be closing the park off to anyone without a wristband. :thumbsup2 I however will still be e-mailing the sights above just to be cautiouse! I know it's going to be busy during the MNSSHP but a regular admission paying guest should not be allowed in the park at the same time! :furious: We've been waiting years to be able to go to this and we bought our tickets the first day they were released because this was something special...I hope it stays that way. Helen

They do say (and I called) that they will be closing the park at 7 to anyone without a wristband. The unwristbanded will not be allowed in.

However, anyone already in the park who does not have a wristband will be "asked to leave."

Whether or not they will actually leave, or how strict WDW personnel will be in MAKING them leave, is the question. WDW seems to be assuming that once asked, they will leave. Nobody can really answer that. The results will only be seen when it happens.

This was how it was done for both parties last year actually. They sort of set it up like EMH with several places to get wristbands around the parks and at the main enterence.

I think it worked just fine for the 3 parties I went to (1 Halloween and 2 x-mas).

I also paid for tickets for the 29th and I was think about adding another night as well. If someone gets a responde from disney would you please post it?

Thanks

I have e mailed both addresses, so has my friend.

I hope as many people as possible do !

We phoned from the UK and asked tonight, the CM said it was "kind of" ticket only !!!!! er????? I said we are from the Uk with a hopper pass for 21 nights, we could go to EVERY MNSSHP for free then. Just be in the park at 5/6pm, not be wrist banded, so no rides.... BUT we could watch parades, characters and fireworks. She said emmmmmmmmm.

We have brought tickets, so we are NOT happy about this. Will let you guys know the reply. Thanks for letting us know OP! :thumbsup2

Get emailing everyone .................... we NEED to change this.

In respect to your concerns related to the collector pins and access by the general public without a MNSSHP ticket, no wristband, no pin. They mark your wristband when you purchase. So, at least those would remain for MNSSHP ticket holders only.

I believe that they will do as they always have done. I can't imagine that they won't try to herd out the day guests. Maybe I am being naive, but there was something that I read on MousePlanet that said that the posted hours were in error and it was due to some computer glitch that was to be fixed closer to the calendar month. We went last year - will never go again, it was SO CROWDED!!

Even with wristbands, the crowds were unimaginable - I was used to the e ride nights at $10 per person, no crowds!! I refused to pay for the privelege again!!

We have never been and were really looking forward to it. I have sent them an email.

When we were in the parks recently, we discovered how people are getting away with abusing EMH. When we talked to several people, we were told "they aren't making us leave, so why should we leave?" "We aren't leaving until they make us." They told us how they did this for EMH and the parties as well. There is obvious abuse of the system. It is really unfortunate for those of us trying to be honest. Are they actually going to check bracelets before you sit down for fireworks, before you trick-or-treat each time, before you get cookies and hot cocoa, before you walk in to watch the shows that have very limited seating? No, I highly doubt it.

I am really disappointed in this. Last year when we went to MVMCP, they closed the parks at 6pm. Although I am sure there was some abuse, it wasn't that bad at all. What is going to make people leave at 7pm when the park is still going to be open? Nothing. We were going to buy tickets for 8 people to each party (Halloween and Christmas). I think maybe now I will change my mind. I guess we can all get in for free.

It has come to my attention that you might not be clearing the MK of day guests for the Halloween Parties. I do sincerely hope that information is incorrect. I PAID WDW for the privilege to attending in October. I PAID for the privilege of seeing the parade. I PAID for the privilege of seeing the fireworks. I paid for it. The day guests did not.

Very disappointing.

A usually happy paying guest.
