DH and I are going to WDW 8/21 - 8/29. DH does not like AK, but I must go for at least part of one day!! :rolleyes1 SO . . . here are the attractions on my MUST SEE/DO LIST:

Maharajah Jungle Trek (never done, NEED to see those tigers  )
Tarzan Rocks
Dinosaur (FASTPASS)
Festival of the Lion King
It's Tough to be a Bug (FASTPASS)
Tree of Life Discovery Island Trails

Of course my MUST DOs are all over the park!! We "plan" on arriving right when AK opens.

We have an AR for Mitsukoshi Tappanyaki at 6:45PM. We would like to do a little of Future World before dinner. (We have an entire day slotted for World Showcase (plus Soarin') later in the week.)

Please let me know the best way to get my AK must see's in without running around like a chicken without a head!!!

Thanks!!

This past spring break we were waiting when they dropped the ropes and when everyone else headed for the Safari, we went to Dinoland. We rode Primeval Whirl and Dinosaur multiple times, with out waiting (Primeval Whirl they didn't even make us get off the ride to go around again, which we did many times).

We then headed to the first showing of FOTLK (with a stop for a FP for the Safari on the way). I would think you could do the same thing except grab the FP for It's Tough to be a Bug. If the line is short and you can do that prior to FOTLK, do it. Once FOTLK was over, we immediately to Tarzan Rocks and saw the first show there.

We left Tarzan Rocks and went to the Jungle Trek. When we were done there we used our FP for the Safari. This was all completed in time for lunch at Flame Tree. We were done with everything we wanted to do at AK shortly after lunch and headed over to Epcot for the afternoon/evening. And this was during Spring Break and it's unbelievable crowds. Even though we made a couple of cross park dashes, it worked out great.

Ohhhhh! I like the idea of heading over to Dinoland first!! You know everyone is heading for the Safari!!! Thanks!! (We just did the safari in May, so if the lines are CRAZY, we're skipping it!!) THANKS AGAIN for you input!!

Ak is our least favorite park, but we have to do it at least once per year. We always head to dinoland first then make our way to Its tough to be a bug. We go in first thing in the Am and are usually out by 12:00.

I think my wife and I are among the few who consider the Oasis a MUST-SEE attraction at AK.

Head to safari first, get out and go right to tough to be a bug. depending on when fotlk starts, go there, or go through the walking trails. head to dinosaur for fast pass or go on it depending on the line. then head to whatever you didnt do yet. done by 1130 for sure.

When we went to AK last year, we did the EMH because the safari was opened during EMH. We headed to the Safari first and went right to Lion King. After that we walked over to Tarzan and had a 10 minute wait to get in, so we picked up fp for Dinosaur. This route worked for us.

Animal Kingdom is our favorite park because it is so laid back! We always go to Dinoland first and ride Dinosaur...then go to Its tough to be a bug then Lion King show or Tarzan rocks depending on showtimes-you can walk the jungle treks anytime. We've never had to wait at Dinosaur if we go first thing in the morning.
