I was looking at the calendar and wondering if DisneyLand is as crazy the week before Easter as WDW is? I have never been to California, but DS has the week before Easter off. am I nuts? Is September after Labor Day better?

Yes, the week prior to Easter is generally a busy time at Disneyland Resort and it quiets down after Labor Day. That being said, there's usually some high/low season trade offs to keep in mind (see this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1199852).

However, there are a couple of other caveats to keep in mind with the dates you are taking about. Rivers of America will be drained until May. And, thus, Tom Sawyer's Island, the Columbia, the Mark Twain, Davy Crockett canoes, and Fantasmic! will all be out of commission.

Something to keep in mind about Labor Day weekend is that the Disneyland Half Marathon is held on Saturday bringing in big crowds for the weekend (though the non-holiday weekdays following should be fine.)

Any week remotely close to Easter and/or Spring Breaks tend to be crazy busy. People are ready for a vacation after a long winter and So Cal weather is about perfect in late March through April.

I would definitely choose the week after Labor Day. We often go at that time and the crowds are low and it is still very warm - sometimes even hot! The only down side is there are typically many rides closed for refurb and the fireworks/parades/shows are only on the weekends.

Have a great trip.:)

Thanks. Guess we'll stay home for Easter! DS is autistic, and doesn't handle crowds well.
